Hilton Honors is currently running a promotion in which you can earnย double points for all your stays at Hilton hotels in Asia-Pacific if you perform your booking using a Visa Infinite or Visa Signature branded card. This promotion runs from now until 31 December 2018 and registration is required.
To be eligible for the double points, you will have to book and stay at Hilton properties within the Asia-Pacific region from now until 31 December 2018. It’s worth noting that stays booked prior to this will not be eligible to earn 2X points even though you have paid for it using a Visa Signature branded card such as the DBS Altitude Visa.
For the full list of properties in Asia-Pacific which are in Hilton’s portfolio, you can refer to this list.
Earn double points through the Visa promotion, stack it with Moments Made Bigger
As mentioned earlier, if you book your stays using a Visa Infinite or a Visa Signature card you will earn double points on all your stays from now until 31 December 2018. With this promotion, there is a great chance to double dip on your Hilton Honors points earnings as there is also an ongoing promotion which launched a few months ago called “Moments Made Bigger”.ย
By stacking this new promotion and the Moments Made Bigger promotion, you can potentially earn up to 40 base Hilton Honors points per USD1 on all your stays.ย This does not even include the bonus points you will earn by virtue of your elite status in the Hilton Honors program.
Take for instance if you were to book your stay at the Waldorf Astoria Bangkok, the swanking new hotel located in central Bangkok. Paid rates go for about USD291 pre-tax.
If you were to book this one-night stay with your Visa Infinite or Visa Signature card, here’s how many base Hilton Honors points you can potentially earn if you stack the Visa 2X points offer as well as the Moments Made Bigger offer:
- 2,910 base points from the room rate of USD291;
- 2,910 bonus from booking the stay using a Visa Infinite or Visa Signature card;
- 5,820 bonus as its a Waldorf Astoria property and hence earns 3X points under the Moments Made Bigger promotion
Giving you a grand total of 11,640 Hilton Honors points which is an excellent deal in my opinion. Hilton Honors points are worth 0.5 US cents per point so you will be getting back USD58.20 on your stay at the Waldorf Astoria Bangkok. Remember that you will still earn additional bonus miles by virtue of your elite status in Hilton Honors which will further increase the total value of Hilton Honors points you will be earning.
Concluding Thoughts
This promotion ties in nicely with the year-end holidays and this is a great way to rack up some serious Hilton Honors points to put towards a future redemption. Just remember to register your Hilton Honors account for this promotion as well as Moment’s Made Bigger to accelerate your Hilton Honors points earning.
Hi Matthew, just wanted to point out, I think the promotions you highlighted do not modify the base points. So on 1USD, the base points would still be 10. The additional 10 from VISA promo, 20/30 from 2X/3X are bonus points, as you correctly set out in your following example.
“By stacking this new promotion and the Moments Made Bigger promotion, you can potentially earn up to 40 base Hilton Honors points per USD1 on all your stays. “
Yeah you’re right. Phrasing could be improved heh thanks.
I’d venture that the number of HH members who chase status via points accumulation extremely few anyway. Anyhow, thanks for updating us with this article!
When you say perform booking, it means payment with the visa infinite or visa signature card right? Not the credit card hold correct?
Itโs worth noting that stays booked prior to this will not be eligible to earn 2X points even though you have paid for it using a Visa Signature branded card such as the DBS Altitude Visa.
I checked with a Hilton rep and she mentioned as long as you have successfully enrolled prior to check out, you are eligible for the 2x bonus.
Maybe can clarify further…
On social media? Interesting I’ll double check this cause if that’s so practically everyone will get double points as long as they’ve booked the stay with a Visa card which is great
thru the live chat.
I have asked and confirm again that as long as enrollment is done prior to checkout, it is fine. They say it is ok even if the credit card has been charged
I always wondered if anyone actually receives these Hilton promotions prior to the start date. I never do, and by the time I see it posted on info sharing sites it’s already 1-2 weeks in.
Khen, can I check whether you call Hilton from Singapore? Can you share what is the number? The only HH number I can find covering Singapore is their Asia UIFN which sounds to me is manned in PRC.
UIFN Hilton Honors (English): 80044466677
I got my anaswer through the livechat.
Try this number
1800 737 1818

Thanks a lot Khen
Hi how would this stack with the usual 2x points room rate? Potentially we can get 6x with such room rates?
Using Matthew’s example, booking 2X points would just give another 2,910, which totals 5X without status, and 6X if you’re HH Diamond.
2,910 base points from the room rate of USD291;
2,910 bonus from booking the stay using a Visa Infinite or Visa Signature card;
5,820 bonus as its a Waldorf Astoria property and hence earns 3X points under the Moments Made Bigger promotion
Thanks! I was referring to the existing 2x honours points room rate. Potentially this can stack with the visa promo and the existing moments made bigger promo.
After signing up through the link I got “you’re registered” but when I log in to my HH account under active offers only the Moments Made Bigger Promotion is showing. Does anyone has 2x Visa promotion showing in your account?
it never appears
Hi,
If i am aiming for the fast track diamond, is this eligible as well?
It should.
Thanks Matthew for the helpful article!
Context: I’m debating whether to book a second room directly with Hilton or through Kaligo/Expedia whenever there are promotions like these.
Does anyone have any experience with how promotions like “Moments Made Bigger” and “Live It Up, Double Up” apply if I book two rooms? Tried reading the T&Cs but I’m a bit confused. Will these promotions and/or my Hilton Gold Status apply to the second room?
Thank you!
You should get bonus points for both rooms.
As for status recognition, officially it only applies for one room (the one you’re staying in), but the few times I’ve tried (Conrad Bali and Bangkok), breakfast benefit (but not room upgrade) was applied to the second room as well. Really property-dependent.
Thanks Louis! I experienced the same breakfast situation recently at Hilton Phuket as well – glad to hear there are other Hilton properties providing the extra breakfast benefit as well. Surprisingly, they upgraded both rooms as well, but I don’t think it was because of the Hilton Gold status, and the upgrade difference was minor. But still, nice touch by them. I didn’t get points for both rooms that time as they forgot to put both rooms on the same folio, despite my request. Just started staying at Hiltons this year – have learnt a lot from you guys at… Read more »
If the stay’s relatively recent (actually, even if it’s not) I think you could just contact Hilton Honors and request they add the second room’s points as well? I’ve done it before. Shouldn’t let those unclaimed points go to waste… ๐
Per Hilton member will be able to earn points for up to two rooms per booking…
