Announcing The Milelionโ€™s Monthly Miles Meetup for April

A new murder mystery game.

Theย Milelionโ€™s Monthly Miles Meetup is a place for miles enthusiasts to meet, mingle, make merry, and maybe form a boyband.

I’m pleased to announce the details of the next meetup:

Date: Thursday, 18 April 2019
Venue: Lobby Lounge at InterContinental Bugis
Time: 7.00 pm till my wife calls

Tickets will be available from 12 pm on Thursday, 4 April 2019.

Tickets have historically been free, but due to no-shows and late cancellations at past events, we’re going to be implementing an $8 fee per ticket from this month on. This is fully refundable if you cancel at least 7 days before the event starts. The $8 fee, less a $1.35 ticket charge by EventBrite, will be put into a central pool to order table snacks during the event- I don’t keep any of it.

This year, we’re doing something a bit different at the Monthly Milelion Meetups by inviting a different guest from the industry each month, someone who can share insights from the other side of the loyalty/hotel/airline/credit card table.ย It’s a chance to ask pressing questions, provide passive aggressive feedback and maybe get insider info, depending on how drunk we can get them.

Last month we hosted Rohith Murthy, the Founder & Country Manager of SingSaver. This month, we’re welcoming Leonard Tok, the product manager for OCBC VOYAGE.

April Meetup Guest: Leonard Tok, Vice President for Affluent Cards at OCBC Bank

Leonard is the product lead for the Affluent Cards team in OCBC. Products under his care includes the VOYAGE Card programme which he has been the lead product manager since its launch in 2015. He has been in the banking industry for more than 10 years and have been in various roles in the consumer banking space which includes Relationship Management, corporate communications and Marketing.

Conclusion

Meetups are a great opportunity to meet fellow miles enthusiasts. Come down, get a drink, and avoid eye contact the whole evening!

Sadly missing out on this one even though I’m in town for a change, as it’s sold out. Hope to be able to finally join one in May. They sound like fun.
