Now live: Get up to $300 upon approval for the UOB PRVI Miles AMEX

From 26 May to 1 June, the first 50 new-to-bank UOB PRVI Miles AMEX applicants each day will get a S$300 rebate.

From 26 May to 1 June 2020, new-to-bank customers can get at least S$100 and up to S$300 upon approval for a UOB PRVI Miles AMEX card. Existing customers can get S$100, provided they haven’t cancelled any UOB PRVI Miles AMEX card in the last 6 months (other UOB cards are fine).

There’s an offer too for the UOB One card, where new-to-bank cardholders will receive at least S$50 and up to S$300. Existing cardholders will get S$20.

โš ๏ธ For the purposes of this promotion, new-to-bank customers are defined as those who do not currently hold a UOB principal credit card, and have not done so in the 6 months prior to 26 May 2020

Here’s how it works.

First 50 customers

From 26 May to 1 June 2020, the first 50 new-to-bank customers approved each day for either a UOB PRVI Miles AMEX or a UOB One card will receive up to a S$300 rebate on recurring bill payments.

The quota starts at 00:00 every day, and do note that the daily 50 customer cap is shared between the two cards.

To earn the rebate, cardholders must make three qualifying transactions at any of the following merchants:

Utilities
  • Geneco by Seraya Energy
  • I Switch Pte Ltd
  • PacificLight Energy Pte Ltd
  • Senoko Energy Pte Ltd
  • Sembcorp Power Pte Ltd
  • SP Services
  • SP Digital Pte Ltd
Telcos
  • M1
  • Singtel
  • Starhub
Digital Services
  • Netflix
  • Spotify
  • Amazon Prime
  • iTunes
  • Viu
Others
  • SPH

You’ll then receive a rebate equal to the amount spent on the first three qualifying transactions. In other words, make sure your three transactions sum to at least S$300.

I know that the SP app does not allow you to overpay your balance, but it’s possible to make prepayments over the counter at the Toa Payoh customer service centre. It’s also possible to overpay Geneco, M1, and Starhub bills via their respective payment portals.

Here’s the catch you need to be aware of: the rebate will be credited to your card by 31 December 2020. That’s a very long fulfillment time, and although it’s always possible they’ll credit it early, you need to be prepared to wait.

The full T&C can be found here

51st customer onwards

For the UOB PRVI Miles AMEX, the 51st new-to-bank approval onwards will get S$100 cashback when they make at least 5 transactions (of any amount) in the first month.

Do note that certain merchant exclusions (such as education and insurance) apply- you can find the full list in the T&Cs. The easiest way to hit the quota would probably be to buy a few small items at NTUC. If successful, your cash credit will be awarded by 30 September 2020.

For the UOB One card, the 51st new-to-bank approval onwards will get S$50 cash, fulfilled by SingSaver via PayNow.

Conclusion

We saw a similar “S$100 rebate with 5 transactions” campaign for the UOB PRVI Miles AMEX back in March, but this is the first time we’ve seen a S$300 rebate being offered. If you’re a new-to-bank customer (and fancy your odds of getting in the first 50), it’s a pretty good acquisition offer- just be prepared to wait.
