From 8 October to 31 December 2020, UOB PRVI Miles Mastercard and UOB PRVI Miles Visa cardholders can register to earn 4.4 mpd on recurring bill payments (this includes online subscriptions and memberships) with selected merchants like telcos, streaming services and gyms.ย
This is capped at a relatively low bonus of 300 miles per month, but at least there’s no typical UOB “first X” mechanics at play here. All registered cardmembers will receive the bonus, simple as that.ย
Earn 4.4 mpd on online recurring bill paymentsย
Cardholders must first register their UOB PRVI Miles Mastercard or UOB PRVI Miles Visa card for this offer. UOB PRVI Miles AMEX cardholders have their own version of this offer, which I’ll write about separately.
To register, send the following SMS to 77862 using your mobile number registered with UOB:
PRB<space>Last 4 alphanumeric digits of your NRIC/Passport Number
Example: If your NRIC is S1234567A, you will need to send โPRB 567Aโ to 77862.
Once registered, cardholders will earn 4.4 mpd on eligible recurring bill and subscription payments charged to the card by 31 December 2020, subject to a cap.ย
If your transaction is in SGD, your 4.4 mpd will be split into:ย
- the base earn rate of UNI$3.5 per S$5 (1.4 mpd)
- a bonus of UNI$7.5 per S$5 (3 mpd)
If your transaction is in foreign currencies, your 4.4 mpd will be split into:
- the base earn rate of UNI$6 per S$5 (2.4 mpd)
- a bonus of UNI$5 per S$5 (2 mpd)
The maximum bonus UNI$ you can earn each month is capped at UNI$150, i.e 300 miles. This means you’d max out the bonus by spending S$100 on SGD-denominated eligible transactions, or S$150 on foreign currency denominated eligible transactions.ย
Bonus UNI$ will be credited to your account by 31 March 2021. The full T&Cs can be found here.

Conclusion
Do remember that UOB PRVI Miles Mastercard and UOB PRVI Miles Visa cardholders can also earn 4.4 mpd on SimplyGo rides up till 31 December 2020, provided they haven’t used their card for SimplyGo transactions between 1 July to 31 August 2020 (strange mechanic, but it wouldn’t be UOB if it weren’t strange). If you’re interested in that offer, read more about it here.ย
Recurring bill payments are always a source of anxiety for miles collectors, given how certain banks’ T&Cs (e.g DBS) exclude them. This should give some comfort going forward, although do remember you’ll max out the cap with just S$100 (SGD) or S$150 (FCY) of spending each month.ย
Does paying via a non-recurring mode of payment (eg. Singtel app adhoc payments ) work?
Tnc seems to not exclude it or am i missing something?
โOnline Recurring Bill Transactionsโ refers to Transactions successfully posted to your
Card from any of the Participating Merchants, excluding the Excluded Transactions and
are processed by the respective merchants as online transactions via a payment gateway;
Would you know if this were valid for Starhub Cable as well? I don’t have a Starhub phone plan.
