Targeted: Free S$30 for groceries and food delivery with AMEX credit cards

Register and get S$10 back with a min. spend of S$50 at supermarkets and food delivery, up to three times. Capped at 5,000 cards.

American Express has launched a new AMEX Offer for cardholders, which basically gives them S$30 in free money for grocery shopping or food delivery.

Like all AMEX Offers, this is targeted, so if you don’t see it in the app or online it means you’re not eligible. You could try to call up American Express customer service and ask to be manually registered, but it’s really a YMMV thing and there’s no guarantee you’ll be successful.

Update: Check your inbox first for an eDM; unlike traditional AMEX offers, this one seems to require registration via email first before it displays in your app
❓ What are AMEX Offers?

AMEX Offers are opportunities to earn bonus miles or Membership Rewards points, or discounts in the form of statement credits. These are available to Platinum, True Cashback, and KrisFlyer cobrand cardholders, and can be found in the “Offers” section of the AMEX app or web portal.

Registration is required, and some offers may be targeted. These are not applicable to DBS/Citi/UOB AMEX cardholders.

S$10 back with S$50 Everyday Spend

From now till 28 February 2021, targeted American Express cardholders can earn S$10 back on a minimum spend of S$50 at participating Everyday Spend businesses, up to three times.

Registration is required, and is capped at 5,000 cards. The S$50 spending can be in one or more transactions, so it’s basically cumulative. So long as you spend at least S$150 during this period, you’ll get S$30 cashback, on top of your regular rewards.

Everyday Spend businesses include:

  • Cold Storage
  • FairPrice
  • Unity
  • Prime Supermarket
  • Sheng Siong
  • Deliveroo
  • foodpanda
  • GrabFood*

*even through GrabFood is included, you will not earn the rebate for GrabPay top-ups

In person supermarket transactions must be made at any of the following branches in this list; or you could make them online at Cold Storage or FairPrice’s websites.

You should see the rebate credited to your card account within 5 business days after the qualifying spend, but it may take up to 90 days from the offer end date. In my experience these post very fast, so you shouldn’t have to wait long.

Conclusion

I’m sure everyone will be buying groceries and ordering food online, so this is basically S$30 free money if you were targeted. Be sure to save the offer, because it’s capped at 5,000 registrations, and do your spending before 28 February 2021.
