Great deal: Get S$130 cash or Fitbit Inspire 2 with CIMB credit cards

Expired

Apply for a CIMB credit card by 7 May 2021 and get S$130 cash or a Fitbit Inspire 2 with S$700 spend in the first 2 months of approval.

You probably don’t have a CIMB credit card yet, but that’s a good thing.

From 5 April to 7 May 2021, new-to-bank customers who get approved for selected CIMB credit cards through SingSaver and spend S$350 per month for the first two months will get a Fitbit Inspire 2 or S$130 cash (30% more than CIMB’s public offer).

⚠️ CIMB defines “new-to-bank” as customers who do not currently hold a principal CIMB credit card, and have not done so in the past 12 months.

Which CIMB cards are eligible?

The following CIMB credit cards are eligible for this offer (all CIMB cards are free for life for both principal and supplementary cardholders):

Card Income Req. Annual Fee Key Features
CIMB Platinum Mastercard
Apply here
S$30K None Up to 10% cashback on dining, petrol, transport, medical and more
CIMB Visa Signature
Apply here
S$30K None Up to 10% cashback on online shopping, groceries, cruises and more
CIMB World Mastercard
Apply here
S$50K None Up to 2% cashback on dining, entertainment, automobile and duty-free shopping
CIMB Visa Infinite
Apply here
S$120K None Up to 2% cashback on travel, FCY

All applications must be received by 7 May 2021, and cards must be approved by 21 May 2021. Once again, take note that this promotion is for new-to-bank customers only; existing customers will not receive any gift.

⚠️ Don’t forget to fill out the rewards redemption form!

The first step when applying is to enter your email address. SingSaver will send you a rewards redemption form, which you need to complete and enter your application reference number. For CIMB, this is 8 alphanumeric characters, e.g 1-xxxxxxx

No form, no reward. Get it done ASAP!

Cardholders must spend a minimum of S$350 during the first 30 days from eligible card approval date, and another S$350 during the subsequent 30 days to qualify (i.e S$700 total). For example, if your card is approved on 9 April 2021, your first 30 days will run from 9 April to 8 May 2021, and the second 30 days from 9 May to 7 June 2021.

According to the T&C, qualifying spend refers to any retail transactions (including internet purchases) which do not arise from:

  • ez-Link/ Transit Link top-up and reload
  • Cash advances
  • Balance transfers
  • Fund transfers
  • CIMB 0% i.Pay Plan
  • Fees
  • Interest Charges
  • Amounts brought forward from previous statements

This is surprisingly unrestrictive- there’s no exclusion for categories like insurance, education, government transactions, charitable donations, hospital or utilities bills. Heck, even GrabPay top-ups aren’t listed.

Cash gifts will be fulfilled by SingSaver within five months of meeting the qualifying criteria (note this is longer than the usual 3-4 months). If you’re not comfortable with this timeline, please don’t apply- you’re just going to get annoyed with the wait.

The full T&C can be found here

Conclusion

The CIMB Visa Infinite is the only no-fee Visa Infinite card I’m aware of in Singapore, and is well worth getting if only for access to Visa Infinite privileges like the concierge (useful for booking restaurants in Japan, albeit not those super fancy ones that require hotel concierges), 4th night free on hotel bookings, and other assorted deals.

If nothing else, this is an opportunity to earn ~19% cashback on S$700 of spending, and it’s hard to argue with that.

After Singsave play ‘yo-yo’ with the Dyson fan during last Sep promo, its very difficult to trust them now. They kept pushing to Amex that our Dyson gift was rejected by the ‘bank’ but Amex replied that its Singsaver’s promo and that they should honour it, not Amex. Anyhow its just us, the rest of the readers may have more successful.

CIMB is the most untrustworthy bank to have any kind of relation with.

Lord Hanford II

When you try to apply for the card, it only allows Singaporeans and PR’s – racist.

ZYX

Even if it allowed, the salary bar would have been higher than that for SC/PR also.

Does CIMB world card gives 1.5% rebate for dash and grab top up?

Waited till today and have not received $130 despite new to bank, “spent” $350 per month x 2 for grab top ups (not excluded at the time of this promo). Disappointed.
