Singapore Airlines has announced a further extension to PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite status, making it three consecutive years of status extensions due to COVID-19.
All PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite members with status expiring between March 2022 and February 2023 will receive an automatic extension for a further year, which means their status will be valid till at least March 2023 and as far out as February 2024.
All PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite statuses that are due to expire between March 2022 and February 2023 will be automatically extended for another year. This supports our members, who have been unable to fly as before due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and follows a similar extension in 2020 and 2021.
-Singapore Airlines
Singapore Airlines will also be extending KrisFlyer Milestone Rewards, and rolling over Elite Miles to the following year.
PPS Club Members
PPS Club status extension
Singapore Airlines will extend the validity of PPS Club or Solitaire PPS Club membership for those with membership years ending March 2022 through to February 2023.
The full amount of PPS Value required for renewal will be credited to your KrisFlyer account as Reserve Value, based on your membership tier and tier renewal end-date. The one-time credit will take place in March 2022 as shown below.
Membership Tier | Tier Renewal End-Date | PPS Value Credited (as Reserve Value) |
Solitaire PPS Club (qualified after 1 Jun 2018) |
Mar 2022 to Feb 2023 | 50,000 |
Solitaire PPS Club (qualified before 1 Jun 2018) |
25,000 | |
PPS Club | 25,000 |
The PPS Value credited as Reserve Value will not count towards the PPS Value required to earn the various PPS Rewards.
Any PPS Value already earned through flying or on-ground activities will be stored as Reserve Value for future requalification.
PPS Reserve Value Extension
As a reminder, Singapore Airlines previously extended Reserve Value for PPS Club members, so nothing’s changed here:

Extension of Reserve Value validity period took place in March 2021. Some examples of extension are shown below:

Elite Miles Rollover
Campaign Landing Page |
If you participated in Singapore Airlines’ ongoing campaign to earn status credits on the ground, your efforts haven’t been wasted.
As your KrisFlyer Elite Silver / Elite Gold membership will be automatically extended for a third year, any Elite miles earned through air and non-air accruals during your current qualification cycle will be carried forward to the next qualification cycle starting between March 2022 and February 2023, after your membership year has been extended.
The Elite miles rolled over from your previous membership cycle can be used to count towards your KrisFlyer Elite membership renewal due between March 2023 and February 2024, or to upgrade your membership status.
-Singapore Airlines
In other words, any Elite miles you’ve earned from flying, KrisShop, Kris+, credit card points transfers etc. will be rolled over to your next qualification cycle. If you have 40,000 Elite miles now, you’ll start the next qualification cycle with 40,000 Elite miles
Elite miles will first be reset to zero upon membership extension, and re-credited to you within two months from the start of your new membership cycle. In other words, don’t panic if you see it reset initially!
Do note the following:
- Each KrisFlyer Elite member (as of 1 March 2022) will be eligible for a one-time re-crediting of Elite miles
- Only Elite miles accrued within your KrisFlyer Elite membership year (with membership start date between 1 March 2021 and 1 March 2022) will be re-credited to you
- KrisFlyer Elite Silver members who are upgraded to KrisFlyer Elite Gold tier before their KrisFlyer Elite Silver membership end-date will also be eligible for a one-time re-credit of Elite miles
- Members who upgraded from KrisFlyer Elite Silver to KrisFlyer Elite Gold after 1 March 2022 from any status match programmes or accelerator campaigns will not be eligible for the re-crediting of Elite miles
Extension of KrisFlyer Milestone Rewards
If you have the following KrisFlyer Milestone Rewards (formerly known as Elite Gold Rewards) that are expiring before or on 30 November 2022, they are eligible for extension:
- 1,500 KrisPay miles
- 25% Bonus KrisFlyer Miles
- 50% Bonus KrisFlyer Miles
- 5,000 KrisFlyer Miles Redemption Discount
- Double KrisFlyer Miles
- Short-haul Advance Upgrade
- Premium Economy Advance Upgrade
These Rewards will now expire on 31 December 2022. This extension will be processed automatically by 31 January 2022, and no action is required on your part.
KrisFlyer Milestone Rewards may be used on flights departing after 31 December 2022, as long as the Rewards are applied on or before 31 December 2022. Otherwise, rewards must be utilised by 31 December 2022.
If you applied a KrisFlyer Milestone Reward to a booking that has now been refunded, here’s what happens.
For the following Rewards:
- 25% Bonus KrisFlyer Miles
- 50% Bonus KrisFlyer Miles
- Double KrisFlyer Miles
Login to your KrisFlyer account and navigate to Account Summary > KrisFlyer Milestone Rewards. You can then click on โremoveโ to remove your Reward application from the booking. This will change the status back to โAvailableโ, and the expiry date will be updated to 31 December 2022.
For the following Rewards:
- 5,000 KrisFlyer Miles Redemption Discount
- Short-haul Advance Upgrade
- Premium Economy Advance Upgrade
You’ll need to contact KrisFlyer Membership Services to redeposit your Reward. The expiry date will be updated to 31 December 2022.

KrisFlyer Miles Extension |
In addition to status extensions, Singapore Airlines has also extended the expiry of KrisFlyer miles (not that this was a concern for PPS Club/Solitaire PPS Club members, whose miles don’t expire).
Any miles expiring between January and December 2022 will be granted a further 6-12 month extension, extending them to at least until 31 January 2023 and as far as 30 June 2023 in some cases.
For the all-important details, be sure to refer to the post below.
Good news: Singapore Airlines extends KrisFlyer miles until at least January 2023
Conclusion
I honestly wasn’t expecting Singapore Airlines to extend status for a third year. In fact, I assumed the campaign to earn status credits on the ground was their way of saying “yeah, we previously gave you a free extension, but this time round, you’re gonna work for it”.
Fortunately, all that effort isn’t wasted- PPS Club members can store it in their PPS Reserve, while KrisFlyer Elite members can carry it forward to the following membership year.
My KrisFlyer Elite Gold membership year ends on 31 October 2022, and since my status is now extended till 31 October 2023 and I’ve already clocked enough elite miles to requalify, my status will be valid till 31 October 2024!
At the very least, no one will need to worry about requalifying for elite status until March 2023 at the earliest.

excellent. very generous of them.
My KF Gold expires this month. I don’t recall reading that expirations in Jan/Feb 2022 will also get a 1 year extension. Does anyone know? Or is it extended and then extended again thanks to this latest announcement?
Mine expires in March 2022 and email of extension received at 2:45pm. Means Aaron got news of extension earlier than me. Iโm happy they extending the my KF miles expiring in 2022.
With this extension, should those targeting to reach KF Elite Gold with the bank points conversion campaign reach Gold in Jan 2022 or Feb 2022 to qualify for the status extension in 2023?
Currently, silver member, and need addtional 8000 to qualify gold, should I do the covert bank points to KF in Jan or Feb?
If in 2022 Feb, I become gold member, it will expire on Feb 2024 right?
If Feb 2022 you become a gold member, your status will expire Feb 2023. However, you’ll receive an automatic extension and your status will last till Feb 2024.
Thanks Aaron
Piggy backing off this answer, I’m also like 8k short of gold. If I transfer now, I’m good till Jan 2024 and there’s no additional benefit in waiting till February, correct?
I think I’m right but want to be extra sure. I need to book an award flight for mid February so I prefer to transfer sooner than later. Thanks for clarifying and great write-up.
the incremental benefit of waiting till Feb is that your status will be valid till Feb 2024, but if you’re flying in mid feb then better to get your status upgraded now.
Thanks again man.
I wonder if they will also extend the on the ground activities https://milelion.com/2021/04/07/singapore-airlines-offering-pps-value-and-elite-miles-without-flying/
Sorry want to be absolute clear on this…
I have 160 Elite Miles. My membership year ends Jul 2022. So if I credit another 49.8k Elite Miles (by converting KF miles from my CC), I’ll get KF Gold till Jul 2023.
And do I or do I not get the automatic crediting back of the Elite Miles? If I do, essentially I’ll be KF Gold till Jul 2024?
Question here, I’m a solitaire here, have 15k reserve value and took advantage of the miles deposit promo to add 10k more PPS value so I would qualify for an extension of another year.
With this status expiry extension, will my current 10k PPS value transfer to my reserve so I’ll get 25k PPS value for another after the current extension?
that’s right. SIA is basically giving you 25k pps value to requalify, whatever you earned on your own merit remains yours
For solitaire it would be 50k if solitaire is achieved after 2018 if Iโm not wrong.
I really dislike them having 2 schemes for solitaire as it is confusing at times.
I’m an existing PPS member and my renewal was due Jun 2022. I managed to accumulate 50K+ points (some travel and mostly on ground activities) as of Jan 2022. Got my Solitaire PPS upgrade, but SQ tells me they won’t be crediting any PPS points since my renewal is now on June 2023 (due to upgrade using 50K points), and it’s not in their scheme if renewal is due between the dates they published. Doesn’t seem right as I should have at least got 25K points, if not 50K.
Be careful if you are in the same situation!
Because your 50+k PPS Value triggered your upgrade to Solitaire in Jan 2022, and therefore your new Solitaire membership year ends only in Jun 2023.
The free membership extension is only for those whose membership year ends between March 2022 and February 2023
I think they will only credit the free PPS Value for extension in end-Feb 2022, so you would have had no way of benefitting unless your Solitaire upgrade happened after that.
Just an update. I escalated the issue and SQ confirmed that they will be crediting the PPS point in March.
Meaning to say, they will be crediting $50k PPS Value to you in March?
I am not sure I understand, once you have a membership renewal date that is beyond SQ’s Mar’22-Feb’23 bracket, they would tell you that you do not qualify for this latest free extension.
So why would they be crediting you PPS points for this purpose?
In that case, everyone who currently has some form of status regardless their membership expiry date would get a free extension, why would SQ bother to set the time bracket?
@Aaron Wong
How about you, What is your understanding?
