Earn 4.4 mpd with the UOB PRVI Miles Visa

From 17 February to 30 April 2022, UOB PRVI Miles Visa members can earn 4.4 mpd on eligible online spending (see below) made with their registered card.

Registration can be done by sending the following SMS to 77862:

๐Ÿ“ฑ SMS to 77862
PMV<space>Last 4 alphanumeric digits of NRIC/Passport
e.g. PMV 567A

There is no cap on the number of cardholders who can register. Once registered, cardholders who spend at least S$1,000 on eligible online and mobile contactless spending during the entire promotional period will earn up to 4.4 mpd as follows:

  Base Bonus Total
SGD Spend UNI$3.5 per S$5
(1.4 mpd)
UNI$7.5 per S$5
(3 mpd)
UNI$11 per S$5
(4.4 mpd)

The maximum bonus you can earn is capped at UNI$4,500, or S$3,000 of eligible spending during the entire promotion period. Supplementary cardholders are eligible to participate in this promotion, but their spending will count towards the cap of the principal cardholder.

Eligible transactions must be made online in Singapore dollars at any of the following MCCs. Do note that in-store transactions will not be eligible.

Category MCC
Dining and Food Delivery 5811, 5812, 5814, 5441, 5462
Groceries 5411, 5499
Pharmacies 5310, 5331, 5399, 5912

Examples of eligible merchants include:

  • Dining: All major restaurants, fast food outlets, caterers, candy, nut and confectionery stores, and bakeries
  • Food Delivery: GrabFood, Deliveroo, foodpanda
  • Groceries: Fairprice, Sheng Siong, Prime Supermarket, Redmart, Kuhlbarra
  • Pharmacies: Eu Yan Sang, Raffles Health, Unity, Watsons

Base UNI$ will be posted along with the transaction as per normal, and bonus UNI$ will be credited to your account by 31 July 2022.

Be careful with UOB$ merchants

While grocery stores and pharmacies are included under this promotion, UOB PRVI Miles Visa members should be careful to avoid spending at:

  • Cold Storage
  • GIANT
  • Guardian
  • Jasons
  • Market Place

That’s because these merchants fall under the UOB$ programme, which means that cardholders will earn UOB$ (basically cashback) instead of UNI$. The rate isn’t even that good- you’ll receive a mere 1% rebate at Cold Storage and Giant, with a minimum spend of S$50.

It used to be the case that online transactions at UOB$ merchants would qualify for UNI$, but I’ve read several data points saying this may no longer be the case. Proceed with caution.

Card Review

The UOB PRVI Miles Visa is offering up to 4.4 mpd on online food delivery, dining, grocery and pharmacy spending, which makes it the best card to use for these categories until the end of April.

While a S$1,000 minimum spend is required, you have 2.5 months to hit this threshold. Fully utilise this offer, and you’ll receive 9,000 bonus miles for S$3,000 of spend- a very tidy sum for what’s supposedly a general spending card.

Registration only takes a couple of seconds, so it doesn’t hurt to get it done now.
