Singapore Airlines has launched a new promotion to celebrate its addition of flights on the Melbourne and Perth routes in the coming months.ย
This features a 25% discount on Saver awards and 25% bonus on KrisFlyer miles accrual on selected flights. While the offer is ostensibly targeted at the Australian market, there’s nothing stopping a Singapore-based member (or members anywhere else in the world for that matter) from participating, so long as Australia features in their travel plans.
These discounted awards are offered alongside the ongoing Spontaneous Escapes sale, with 30% off a selection of global awards for bookings made by 29 February 2024 and travelled in March and April 2024.ย
25% off Saver awards for Melbourne and Perth
Singapore Airlines is now offering 25% off Saver awards on selected flights on its Melbourne and Perth routes, which are valid for bookings made between 21 February and 6 March 2024.ย
Travel periods are as follows:ย
- Melbourne: 27 May 2024 to 19 June 2024
- Perth: 31 March 2024 to 30 April 2024
Discounts are available for awards on the following flights and cabins.ย

These awards will show up under the Promo category, just like a regular Spontaneous Escapes award.
This also means that they follow regular Spontaneous Escapes rules, namely:
- Tickets must be booked online at singaporeair.com or the SingaporeAir mobile app; no phone bookings are permitted
- Promo awards cannot be waitlisted- they’re either available or they aren’t
- Strictly no date changes or refunds
- Promo awards cannot be combined with a regular Saver/Advantage award in the same booking. You will need to book separate one-way legs if the discount only applies in one direction
The lack of flexibility means you need to make sure your plans are confirmed before pulling the trigger, or else purchase travel insurance that covers miles and points.ย
25% bonus KrisFlyer miles accrual
On top of the redemption discount, Singapore Airlines is also offering a 25% bonus on miles accrual for commercial bookings from Australia to Singapore on selected flights.ย
Tickets must be booked from 21 February to 6 March 2024,ย with travel periods as follows:ย
- Cairns (SQ204/SQ203): 31 March 2024 to 31 May 2024
- Melbourne (SQ248/SQ247): 27 May 2024 to 27 July 2024
- Perth (SQ226/SQ213): 31 March 2024 to 31 May 2024
All travel must originate from Australia, and be completed within the abovementioned period.ย Bonus miles will be awarded for both one-way and round-trip travel, and will be credited up to four weeks after travel is completed.ย
Do note that this offer is only available to KrisFlyer members registered in Australia (per their KrisFlyer account details).
Conclusion
Singapore Airlines is marking an increase in Australia services with a 25% discount on Saver awards for Melbourne and Perth, and while this isn’t as big as the usual 30% off we see for Spontaneous Escapes, the travel period stretches as far as June 2024.
I’d say that 51,325 miles from Melbourne to Singapore in Business Class is an excellent deal, though you will need to make sure your plans are confirmed because these awards cannot be modified or cancelled.
For those of you based in Australia (what creature tried to murder you today?), there’s also an extra 25% bonus on miles accrual when you book a commercial flight from Cairns, Melbourne and Perth, so take advantage of that if you can.
From Melbourne to Singapore over the entire promotion period there’s only ONE business class seat (the one that Aaron screenshotted, on 27 May) available for booking.
Perhaps there’s more seats available for PPS members but it’s a promotion where the headline sounds a lot better than what the reality is, notwithstanding there are economy seats generally available most days.
yeah i was doing a search and realised i couldnt find any business class savers for perth either!
though, to be fair, it could simply be the case that everyone else acted faster than us and booked it up
