SingSaver offering 4 mpd on travel insurance and 100,000 KrisFlyer miles giveaway

Expired

From now till 1 April 2024, earn 4 mpd on participating travel insurance policies, plus a chance to win 100,000 KrisFlyer miles in the grand draw.

With almost all banks now excluding rewards for insurance, there hasn’t been much joy for miles chasers who want to protect their health, their possessions or their travels.

But now for a limited time, SingSaver is offering 4 miles per dollar on travel insurance purchases, and a 100,000 KrisFlyer miles giveaway. If you’re thinking of buying a single trip or annual plan, this is a great opportunity to pick up some bonus miles in the process.

Earn 4 mpd on travel insurance purchases

From 25 March 2024, 9 a.m to 1 April 2024, 8.59 a.m, purchases of selected travel insurance products via SingSaver will earn a total of 4 KrisFlyer miles per S$1.

The following products are participating:

All premiums will be rounded down to the nearest S$1 before miles are awarded; for example a S$200.80 policy will earn 800 miles.

KrisFlyer miles earned under this offer will be deposited directly to your KrisFlyer account by 31 May 2024.

❓ KrisFlyer miles or Max Miles?

Under this campaign, you can choose to earn 4 KrisFlyer miles or 4 Max Miles per S$1 spent.

  • KrisFlyer miles will be deposited to your account directly, without any conversion fees or minimum redemption
  • Max Miles can be converted to 24 different airline and hotel partners (not including KrisFlyer) without any conversion fees, but a minimum redemption of 1,000 to 10,000 Max Miles applies.

100,000 KrisFlyer miles giveaway

Each purchase of travel insurance will earn one lucky draw chance to win 100,000 KrisFlyer miles.

The draw will be conducted on 30 April 2024, and winners announced on this page by 6 May 2024.

Terms & Conditions

The T&Cs for this campaign are split into two sets, but they both apply concurrently (i.e. each set of T&Cs mentions an earn rate of 2 mpd for a total of 4 mpd).

As SingSaver puts it:

Rewards are stackable (2+2 miles) for Travel Miles Campaign and 100,000 KrisFlyer miles T&Cs

The maximum number of miles you can earn for the purchase of an eligible product is 250,000, though I can’t imagine anyone will be constrained by that.

What credit card should you use to pay?

This is a tricky question, because the vast majority of credit cards exclude rewards for insurance purchases. What few remain offer mediocre earn rates ranging from 0.24 to 1.2 mpd.

Card Earn Rate
Maybank Visa Infinite
Apply
1.2 mpd
(capped at S$3,000 per calendar month)
SC Prudential Visa Signature
Apply
0.44 mpd
KrisFlyer UOB Debit Card
Apply
0.4 mpd
(additional miles can be earned from KF UOB account, capped at 5% of MAB)
SC Prudential Platinum
Apply
0.29 mpd
Maybank Horizon
Apply
0.24 mpd

If you’re a Citi cardholder, however, you could use insurance premiums to help you meet the minimum spend for welcome offers or card benefits (e.g. limo rides with the Citi Prestige). Even though these transactions don’t earn any points, Citi has confirmed they will still count towards the minimum spend.

Conclusion

From now till 1 April 2024, SingSaver is offering 4 mpd on travel insurance purchases, as well as a lucky draw of 100,000 KrisFlyer miles for anyone who purchases a policy.

If you’ve got an upcoming trip, or simply need to renew your annual travel insurance policy, be sure to browse the selection and see what works for you. My preferred option is Singlife because they cover the loss of miles and points, and have a “cancel for any reason” clause that you can invoke a maximum of once per policy/policy year.

Be very careful with Singsaver. They are a dubious company, who will try every “trick in the book” to deny awards or benefits. Only with plenty of screen shot evidence will they relent after many emails. Really is not worth the hassle

not steve

speak for yourself, i have never encountered any difficulty claiming my rewards

Steve

Of course I was speaking for myself (and my wife). Both of us have had endless problems with Singsaver. In our opinion, they are not to be trusted.

Can I use heymax to buy FWD/Tiq insurance to further stack another 700 heymax miles on top of the 4mpd?

Biboop

for every single purchase does it qualify for an additional chance at the lucky draw?

David

Agree with Steve on SingSaver. They never honored their post. Also also be careful with SingLife on their loss of miles cover for “any reason”. I am in the process of bringing them to Small Claims Court as they did not honor “any reasons” and instead refer to their T&Cs small print

Steve

Apart from small claims court, report them to MAS. If there is any regulatory oversight, MAS ought to clsoe them down.
