Last month, Singapore Airlines launched a promotion to mark the addition of flights to Melbourne and Perth, featuring a 25% discount on Saver awards and 25% bonus on KrisFlyer miles accrual on selected flights.Â
This month sees the announcement of a fourth service between Singapore and Brisbane commencing in August 2024, and SIA has brought back the same promotion once again.
Celebrate the launch of our 4th service between Brisbane and Singapore by making the most of your KrisFlyer miles. Enjoy 25% off flight redemptions or be rewarded with 25% bonus KrisFlyer miles on flights SQ265 and SQ266, until 8 April 2024. Â
The new service will operate 4x weekly from 4 August 2024, increasing our total flights from Brisbane to 25x weekly, and further enhancing connectivity from Queensland to destinations worldwide.
-Singapore Airlines
While it’s ostensibly targeted at the Australian market, there’s nothing stopping a Singapore-based member (or members anywhere else in the world for that matter) from participating, so long as Australia features in their travel plans.
These discounted awards are offered alongside the ongoing Spontaneous Escapes sale, with 30% off a selection of global awards for bookings made by 31 March 2024 and travelled from 1-30 April 2024.Â
25% discount on Saver awards for Brisbane
Singapore Airlines is now offering 25% off Saver awards on selected flights to and from Brisbane, booked and flown during the following periods:
- Booking period: 25 March to 8 April 2024
- Travel period: 4 August to 4 September 2024
Discounts are available for awards on the following flights and cabins (surprisingly, there are no blackout dates).
Flight | Economy | Business |
SQ265 Dep. SIN: 0700 Arr. BNE: 1635 |
22,875 |
51,375 |
SQ266 Dep. BNE: 1810 Arr. SIN: 0010 (+1) |
22,875 |
51,375 |
These discounted awards will show up under the Promo category, just like a regular Spontaneous Escapes award.
This also means that they follow regular Spontaneous Escapes rules, namely:
- Tickets must be booked online at singaporeair.com or the SingaporeAir mobile app; no phone bookings are permitted
- Promo awards cannot be waitlisted- they’re either available or they aren’t
- Strictly no date changes or refunds
- Promo awards cannot be combined with a regular Saver/Advantage award in the same booking. You will need to book separate one-way legs if the discount only applies in one direction
The lack of flexibility means you need to make sure your plans are confirmed before pulling the trigger, or else purchase travel insurance that covers miles and points.Â
SQ265/266 are operated by Singapore Airlines A350-900MH regional jets, which have the 2018 Regional Business Class seat. I’ve reviewed this seat before on the Boeing 787-10 (it’s pretty much identical), so refer to the article below for the experience.Â

25% bonus KrisFlyer miles accrual on Brisbane flights
On top of the redemption discount, Singapore Airlines is also offering a 25% bonus on miles accrual for commercial bookings from Brisbane to Singapore during the following period:
- Booking period: 25 March to 8 April 2024
- Travel period: 4 August to 4 October 2024
All travel must originate from Brisbane, and the only eligible flight numbers are SQ265/266. Bonus miles will be awarded for both one-way and round-trip travel, and will be credited up to four weeks after travel is completed.Â
Do note that this offer is only available to KrisFlyer members registered in Australia (per their KrisFlyer account details).
Conclusion
Singapore Airlines will add a fourth service to Brisbane in August 2024, and to celebrate, it’s offering 25% off Saver awards for the first month. Even though it isn’t as big as the usual 30% discount we see during Spontaneous Escapes, there’s more time to plan because you don’t need to travel next month (in fact, you can’t; it’s only available from 4 August to 4 October 2024).
51,325 miles to and from Brisbane in Business Class is a great deal, but be sure to confirm your plans before booking because these Promo awards cannot be modified or cancelled.
For readers based in Australia, there’s also an extra 25% bonus on mileage accrual when you book tickets on the newly-added flight, so take advantage of that if you can.
Just checking any experience whether these promo fares will be reappear again after it is gone from the website? It’s weird that I booked the promo fares but when I partner search for it after I booked, the promo fare is gone. Wonder is it only one promo ticket for each flight.
