While DBS cards have long been available on mobile wallets, only Mastercard and Visa have been supported. That’s now changed, with support for American Express cards now added on Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay.
Unlike UOB and the Preferred Platinum Visa, DBS does not offer any bonuses for using mobile wallet payments, so this is more of a convenience than a way of earning extra rewards.
However, it’s marking the launch by offering up to S$10 cashback per DBS AMEX card, allowing you to earn up to S$40 in total depending on how many cards you have. It’s particularly well-timed for those who have just got their DBS Takashimaya AMEX and are starting to clock the minimum spend towards its S$150 cashback offer (available even to existing DBS customers).

Conclusion
DBS AMEX cards can now be added to Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay, and while it’s more of a convenience than anything else, DBS is running a limited-time offer of S$10 cashback per registered card.
I would most probably aim to use this with the DBS yuu AMEX when shopping at Cold Storage, Giant or any other yuu merchant, or at Takashimaya en route to meeting the minimum spend on my DBS Takashimaya AMEX.
Now, if only Instarem would hurry up with Apple Pay support…
