Back in April, GHA DISCOVERY announced that it would be adding complimentary breakfast as a perk for Titanium members.ย
This was initially limited to a handful of smaller chains, such as Marco Polo and Niccolo Hotels, with big names like Kempinski, NH Hotels and Pan Pacific missing. But GHA said that they would be progressively expanding the benefit to other brands too, and true to their word, Capella Hotels & Resorts has now come on board.
GHA DISCOVERY Titanium expands breakfast benefit to Capella
From 4 June 2024, GHA DISCOVERY Titanium members will enjoy complimentary breakfast for stays at Capella Hotels & Resorts worldwide.ย This benefit is valid for the Titanium member, and any guests staying in the same room.
While it’s certainly welcome, I’m wondering how useful this benefit will be in practice. Quite a few of the promotional rates on the Capella website already include breakfast, and these are often cheaper than the no-breakfast Best Available Rate.
And even if there aren’t any promotions for the property you’re looking at, most people who book the Best Available Rate at Capella probably do so through a luxury agent channel like Virtuoso, which already comes with breakfast included.ย

GHA has said that they’ll be adding more brands throughout the year, and the real milestone for me will be when they add bigger chains like NH Hotels and Pan Pacific. That’s when Titanium status will really start to sway some of my upcoming stays.ย
How does the breakfast benefit work?
The breakfast benefit applies to the Titanium member and guests staying in the same room according to the room reservation. The benefit does not apply to additional rooms booked by the Titanium member during the same stay (i.e. you enjoy it on a maximum of one room).
With chains like Hilton or Marriott, elites are technically entitled to a continental breakfast only. Some hotels go above and beyond to provide a full hot breakfast spread, but many more do just the bare minimum. I’ve been to hotel breakfasts where I’ve been told “take whatever you want except the hot food”, and others where the elite “breakfast” is a to-go bag at the front desk- forget about entering the restaurant even!
Thankfully,ย GHA DISCOVERY is keeping their benefit much more straightforward. As stated in the T&Cs:
The Benefit applies to breakfast served at the hotel and will be for the same breakfast type that the hotel offers to guests who have booked a room and breakfast package
In other words, you get the same breakfast as anyone who books a breakfast-inclusive rate. If they get a full hot buffet, so do you. If they get bread and water, so do you.

Conclusion
GHA DISCOVERY Titanium members can now enjoy complimentary breakfast when they stay at Capella Hotels & Resorts worldwide. While it’s a nice perk to have, it might not make much of a difference because most Capella rates include breakfast anyway, or most guests would book through a programme like Virtuoso where breakfast is included.
Still, it’s good to see GHA progressively expanding the list of properties where free breakfast is offered, and let’s hope we see more names added before the year is over.

visa infinite offered earlier this year, pulled after a week or so due to technical issues. i’m told they will eventually relaunch though
The Mastercard GHA Discovery Fast Track promotion is back again till 31 Dec 2024.
I have yet to see a rate with Capella that doesnโt include breakfast so this is just a moot point and a low hanging fruit to announce progress. Anantara and Pan Pacific might be the game changer.
