GHA DISCOVERY Titanium now offers complimentary breakfast

GHA DISCOVERY Titanium is probably the easiest top-tier hotel status to achieve, since it only requires you to stay at three separate brands in a calendar year. You could achieve that with a mere three nights- not particularly difficult given how many GHA brands there are in Singapore and the surrounding region.

And even if you can’t be bothered to do that, it’s available for free to World Elite Mastercard and Visa Infinite cardholders (at least until recently; the Visa offer now shows as unavailable).

So perhaps it shouldn’t be surprising that most Titanium benefits are subject to availability, such as 11 a.m early check-in, 4 p.m late check-out, and a double category room upgrade. After all, it’s hard to consistently offer such perks when Titanium members are a dime a dozen.

But here’s a new benefit that’s guaranteed: breakfast. GHA has now added this as a perk for Titanium members, and while the initial rollout is limited, they’re promising more to come in the future.

GHA DISCOVERY’s new breakfast benefit

From 5 April 2024, GHA DISCOVERY Titanium members will enjoy complimentary breakfast at the following brands and hotels:

• Lungarno Collection
• Marco Polo Hotels
• Maqo Hotels
• Mysk Hotels
• Niccolo Hotels
• Nikki Beach Hotels & Resorts
• Shaza Hotels
• Grand Hotel Heiligendamm
• The Set Collection (from 1 May 2024)

Missing from the list are big names like Anantara, Avani, Capella, Kempinski, NH Hotels, Pan Pacific and PARKROYAL, among others.

Still, it’s a start, and one hopes the benefit will be progressively expanded to other brands too- GHA’s wording certainly suggests so (“Watch as the list continues to bloom throughout the year. We’re just warming up!”).

Even though the benefit officially commences from 5 April 2024, bookings made before this date with check in on or after 5 April 2024 are also eligible.

To enjoy the benefit, members must book a stay via ghadiscovery.com, the GHA DISCOVERY mobile app, the hotel’s official website or with the hotel’s reservations team via phone, chat or email.

How does the breakfast benefit work?

The breakfast benefit applies to the Titanium member and guests staying in the same room according to the room reservation. The benefit does not apply to additional rooms booked by the Titanium member during the same stay (i.e. you enjoy it on a maximum of one room).

With chains like Hilton or Marriott, elites are technically entitled to a continental breakfast only. Some hotels go above and beyond to provide a full hot breakfast spread, but many more do just the bare minimum. I’ve been to hotel breakfasts where I’ve been told “take whatever you want except the hot food”, and others where the elite “breakfast” is a to-go bag at the front desk- forget about entering the restaurant even!

Thankfully, GHA DISCOVERY is keeping their benefit much more straightforward. As stated in the T&Cs:

The Benefit applies to breakfast served at the hotel and will be for the same breakfast type that the hotel offers to guests who have booked a room and breakfast package

In other words, you get the same breakfast as anyone who books a breakfast-inclusive rate. If they get a full hot buffet, so do you. If they get bread and water, so do you.

Conclusion

GHA DISCOVERY has added complimentary breakfast as a perk for Titanium members, effective 5 April 2024. It’s currently available at eight different brands and Grand Hotel Heiligendamm, with The Set Collection due to follow from 1 May 2024.

While the benefit is currently not available at bigger chains like NH Hotels and Pan Pacific, GHA says that they’ll be adding more brands throughout the year. This is an excellent development if you ask me, and could very well sway some of my upcoming stays.
