DBS cards offering extra $100 cashback on dining, shopping & travel

Expired

Register and spend with your DBS cards to earn a bonus S$100 cashback, on top of regular credit card rewards of up to 4 mpd.

DBS has launched a new campaign which offers DBS/POSB cardholders an extra S$100 cashback on shopping, dining and travel expenses, on top of the usual credit card rewards.

Cardholders will need to register via the DBS PayLah! app and meet their personalised spend goal (S$2,500-S$8,000, from what I’m hearing) by 31 July 2024, after which the cashback will be automatically credited.

This is basically free money for anyone who was planning to use the DBS Woman’s World Card anyway, so you might as well take it.

More Details

From 12 June to 31 July 2024, DBS cardholders can register for this promotion via the DBS PayLah! app. Tap on the ‘Rewards’ tab and look for the ‘DBS/POSB Cards 2024 Mid-Year Campaign’ banner.

Registration is capped at 50,000 cardholders. When I registered on 12 June, there were 47,475 slots left, a figure that’s now come down to 39,318. It’s not exactly going like hotcakes, but I’d register sooner than later all the same.

Upon registration, you’ll receive your personalised spend goal, which must be met by 31 July 2024. For the MileLioness and I, this was S$2,500; your spend goal may be different.

What counts as qualifying spend?

Your personalised spend goal must be met entirely by qualifying spend, defined as online and offline transactions in SGD or FCY on shopping, dining and travel.

These categories are defined as follows:

If you prefer to think about things in terms of MCCs, you can find the list here.

Qualifying spend is cumulative across all DBS/POSB credit cards, so you’re not limited to spending on just one. Also note that qualifying spend is only counted from the date of registration; any spending prior to that will be disregarded, even though it falls within the promotion period.

Qualifying spend must be charged within June or July 2024, and posted by the 7th of the following month. This means that you should be able to safely spend towards the end of July as well, because seven days is more than enough time for transactions to post.

When will the cashback be credited?

Eligible cardholders will receive S$100 cashback credited to the card that was last transacted on within five working days (the FAQs say three working days, but when in doubt we should fall back on the T&Cs) of receiving a push notification from the DBS PayLah! app that 100% of the spend goal has been met.

Which card should you use to spend?

Those interested in earning miles and points will probably be defaulting to the following DBS cards.

While you can combine the spending across multiple DBS cards, the timing of the campaign works out quite well for DBS Woman’s World Cardholders. They could spend S$2,500 across two calendar months (June and July), keeping within the S$1,500 4 mpd cap each month.

For example, I might buy a Singapore Airlines ticket in June for S$1,500, then book some overseas tours and activities on Klook in July for S$1,000. This would earn me 10,000 miles in total, and the extra S$100 is just the icing on the cake.

Conclusion

DBS cardholders can now register to earn an extra S$100 cashback on top of their usual credit card rewards, by meeting their personalised spend goal by 31 July 2024.

If you’re a DBS Woman’s World Cardholder, there’s really very little to lose because you’d most likely be putting your online spending on this card anyway.

Did anyone get a spend goal that was not S$2,500?

  1. My target is also 8k. DBS used to give different prize based on the target, but for the past 2 years it’s fixed at on prize. I won’t bother to spend to reach this ridiculous target. Will still charge my expense to the most optimal card.

  2. Looks like it’s still impossible to sign up, if you do not have a DBS bank account yet (even though you hold many DBS credit cards).

  3. Hi Aaron, if I sign up a new dbs card after registering for the event, will the spending on the new card count towards the $2500 goal?

    Thank you!
