Kris+ Weekly Miles Giveaway: Buy tickets, win miles

Fancy gambling with your miles? Buy a Kris+ lottery ticket for 100 miles and win your share of a 364,000 miles prize pool.

Kris+ has launched a new Weekly Miles Giveaway campaign, which is basically a lottery with 364,000 KrisPay miles to be won over the course of August 2024. These miles can either be spent via the Kris+ app, or transferred to KrisFlyer for award flight redemptions.

Members can redeem as many tickets as they wish for 100 KrisPay miles each, which if nothing else, could be a way of burning any orphan balances you have stuck inside the app.

Kris+ Weekly Miles Giveaway

The Kris+ Weekly Miles Giveaway runs throughout August 2024, with an escalating prize each week.

The landing page tries to conceal each week’s giveaway figure to create suspense, but really, you can find the full details in the T&Cs. Maybe they think that people don’t actually read the T&Cs (and they’d be right!).

Round Qualifying Period Prize
1 1 Aug 24 (1000 hrs) to 7 Aug 24 (2359 hrs) 34,000 KrisPay miles
2 8 Aug 24 (1000 hrs) to 14 Aug 24 (2359 hrs) 54,000 KrisPay miles
3 15 Aug 24 (1000 hrs) to 21 Aug 24 (2359 hrs) 108,000 KrisPay miles
4 22 Aug 24 (1000 hrs) to 28 Aug 24 (2359 hrs) 168,000 KrisPay miles

Over the course of four weeks, a total of 364,000 KrisPay miles will be given away. This is worth S$2,427 if spent via the Kris+ app, but hopefully the winner(s) won’t actually do that! Prizes can be converted into KrisFlyer miles, provided you:

  • Convert the entirety of the prize
  • Do so within 21 days of the prize being credited

For perspective:

  • Round 1’s prize is enough for a return Economy Class flight to Hong Kong or Taiwan
  • Round 2’s prize is enough for a return Economy Class flight to Japan or South Korea
  • Round 3’s prize is enough for a return Business Class flight to Japan or South Korea
  • Round 4’s prize is enough for a pair of return Business Class flights to Perth

How to participate

To participate, you must be at least 18 years old as of 1 August 2024, and a Singapore resident.

Members can participate by purchasing a ticket for 100 KrisPay miles. Each ticket gives you one chance to win, and there is no cap on the number of tickets you can purchase.

Your ticket is only valid for the current round, however, so if you buy a ticket in Round 1 and don’t win, your ticket is not valid for Round 2.

Winners will be notified within seven calendar days from the end of each round.

Terms & Conditions

The T&Cs of this promotion can be found here.

Should you participate?

Well…I don’t know. Are you feeling lucky?

I suppose that if you had a small balance stuck in Kris+, and no intention of accumulating more miles, then buying a lottery ticket would allow you to cash it out. Kris+ normally requires a minimum spend of at least 150 KrisPay miles, after all.

As for your chances, it’s anyone’s guess. The obvious goal of this campaign is that the number of miles burned on tickets should be higher than the number of miles paid out, so Kris+ will obviously be trying to sell more than 3,640 tickets.

Conclusion

The inaugural Kris+ Weekly Miles Giveaway has kicked off, with a prize pool of 364,000 KrisPay miles up for grabs. Participation costs 100 KrisPay miles per ticket, and if you have orphan miles that will probably expire unused, then a shot at some value is better than no value at all.

May the odds be ever in your favour.

Smells like an illegal gambling contract, actually. ๐Ÿค”

Sounds like a convoluted way of saying that you need to buy a chance for a lottery win, which may contravene our gambling rules and regulations. Have alerted Gambling Regulatory Authority to check further about this.
