At the start of 2026, the AMEX Platinum Credit Card rebranded its S$200 Lifestyle Credit as the Fashion & Dining Credit, and adjusted the disbursement timing to align more closely with the annual fee payment.
This offers cardholders a half-yearly S$100 statement credit, valid at a wide range of fashion and dining merchants including Club 21, Decathlon, MUJI, Peach Garden, Crystal Jade, Imperial Treasure and Pu Tien.

Like its predecessor, cardholders need to register for the Fashion & Dining Credit before spending. There’s just one problem: while cardholders were supposed to receive the enrolment link a month ago, it’s still nowhere in sight!
American Express has now sent out an eDM advising that enrolment will be delayed until 4 May 2026, well past the original deadline. However, in what I suppose is meant to be a mea culpa of sorts, the Fashion & Dining Credit will be consolidated into a single redemption period, making it easier to redeem.
Fashion & Dining credit delayed until May 2026

Back in January, AMEX Platinum Credit Cardmembers were provided with the following timeline for receiving the Fashion & Dining Credit enrolment link:
| Registered for Lifestyle Credit in 2025? | 2025/26 Annual Fee Billed | Enrolment Link Received |
| No | Anytime in 2025 | 8 weeks from payment of 2026/27 annual fee |
| Yes | Jan to Feb 2025 | 8 weeks from payment of 2026/27 annual fee |
| Yes | Mar to Dec 2025 | 8 weeks from 20 Jan 2026 |
- If you registered for the previous Lifestyle Credit in 2025, and your annual fee was billed between January and February 2025, or if you didn’t register for the Lifestyle Credit in 2025, you will only receive the enrolment link within eight weeks from paying 2026/27’s annual fee
- If you registered for the previous Lifestyle Credit in 2025, and your annual fee was billed between March and December 2025, you will receive the enrolment link within eight weeks from 20 January 2026
Eight weeks from 20 January 2026 would be 17 March 2026, which has long since come and gone. Cardholders who contacted customer service were told that the delay was due to “technical issues”, and provided with timelines that kept shifting.
American Express has finally sent out an official communication about the Fashion & Dining credit, which claims that cardholders can expect to receive the enrolment link by 4 May 2026.

We would like to share an update to your American Express® Fashion & Dining Credit benefit to ensure you have sufficient time to enjoy this benefit. Previously, the credit was structured across two separate redemption periods. For your benefit, the credit will now be available as a single, continuous redemption period from the time of successful enrolment until 31 December 2026. This means you may enjoy up to S$200 in statement credits – S$100 back when S$100 or more is spent in a single transaction, up to two times – at participating Fashion & Dining brands within the year. Your enrolment link will be sent to you on or before week of 4 May 2026. If you require any assistance, please contact us using the number at the back of your Card. For full Terms and Conditions, please visit go.amex/plat-fashion-dining-credit. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to bringing you the Fashion & Dining Credit benefit, featuring a refreshed selection of brands curated for your lifestyle. -American Express |

I find it rather poor form that this eDM doesn’t even acknowledge or apologise for the delay. No one’s expecting a detailed root cause analysis, but the very least you could do is recognise that cardholders have been waiting long after the original deadline.
Credit consolidated into single redemption period

If it’s any consolation, American Express has also made the Fashion & Dining Credit easier to use.
Previously, the credit was split into two redemption periods:
- Redemption Period 1: 20 January to 30 June 2026
- Redemption Period 2: 1 July to 31 December 2026
Now, there is only a single redemption period that runs from the time of enrolment to 31 December 2026. In other words, there is no longer any need to wait till 1 July to spend the second half of the credit (unless, of course, the enrolment link ends up being delayed that long!).
The rest of the terms remain the same, namely that cardholders will receive S$100 back when they spend S$100 or more in a single transaction at a participating merchant, up to two times.
Keep in mind that you still need to make two separate transactions to fully utilise the Fashion & Dining Credit. For example, a single transaction of S$200 will only receive a single S$100 credit. There is no “timeout period” between transactions, however, so you could ask the merchant to break up a larger transaction into two smaller ones, each of at least S$100.
As welcome as this change is, it’s really the least they could do. Had American Express stuck to its original plan of two redemption periods, cardholders would have just eight weeks before the first credit expired on 30 June 2026— so much for half-yearly!

Conclusion
The AMEX Platinum Credit Card’s Fashion & Dining Credit, originally set to launch in mid-March, has now been delayed till early May.
For what it’s worth, American Express has also tweaked the rules to roll the two redemption periods into one, meaning that cardholders can register and spend the full credit immediately, instead of having to wait for the second half of the year.

The brand has been going pear shaped for the last few years.
My membership fees are due in June 2026. With the extra enrolment leadtime, I will probably miss the boat on the $200 credits. Well-played Amex.
