World of Hyatt has launched a new points sale, which offers a 20% discount on points purchases from now until 6 October 2026.
A 20% discount reduces the cost to 2.08 US cents per point, though it’s worth remembering that in 2025, Hyatt increased the base price of a point from 2.4 to 2.6 US cents each (so if you’ve pegged your mental math to the old price, you’ll need to rebase it accordingly).
As far as offers go, this isn’t the most generous we’ve seen. If you really need points now, then some discount is better than nothing, but otherwise I’d recommend waiting till a better offer comes along.

| 20% discount on World of Hyatt points |
From now till 6 October 2026, 11.59 a.m SGT, World of Hyatt members who purchase at least 3,000 points will receive a 20% discount.
Do note that the minimum purchase required to trigger the discount may vary depending on account; I see a minimum purchase of 3,000 points on my account, and 7,000 points on my wife’s.
Members can purchase up to 55,000 points per calendar year. This figure is before any bonuses, so if you need more World of Hyatt points, it might be better to wait till the programme offers a bonus, rather than a discount.
If you still don’t have enough points, it’s also possible to pool points across different accounts, a maximum of once every 30 days. This currently requires completing a PDF form an emailing it in, but Hyatt is working on making online points transfers possible later this year.
What can you redeem World of Hyatt Points for?

World of Hyatt introduced some major changes to its award charts in May 2026, which saw the previous three-tiered pricing structure expanded into five tiers.

What’s especially noteworthy is that the revised Moderate tier is, in most cases, more expensive than the previous Peak pricing, meaning that in an “average” scenario, members will be paying more.
| Category | Peak Price (Current Chart) |
Moderate Price (Revised Chart) |
| 1 | 6,500 | 6,000 -8% |
| 2 | 9,500 | 10,000 +5% |
| 3 | 15,000 | 15,000 Unchanged |
| 4 | 18,000 | 20,000 +11% |
| 5 | 23,000 | 25,000 +9% |
| 6 | 29,000 | 30,000 +3% |
| 7 | 35,000 | 35,000 Unchanged |
| 8 | 45,000 | 55,000 +22% |
Now, if it’s any consolation, most of the damage seems to be at the upper end of the spectrum. If your goal was to book those ultra-luxurious Category 7 or 8 properties, you’ll now be paying up to 67% more — ouch.
However, based on what I’m seeing, the price increases have been much more modest for the low- and mid-range categories. I even saved some points on my Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur and Grand Hyatt Hong Kong reservations by rebooking them after the award chart changes came into effect. Basically, it’s win some, lose some.

A great place to start looking for Hyatt (or other hotel programmes, for that matter) award nights is MaxMyPoint, which shows you which properties allow you to get the most bang for your buck. If you’re buying points with the current sale, you’ll want to ensure you get more than 2.08 US cents per point to come out on top.

When do World of Hyatt points expire?
World of Hyatt points expire after 24 consecutive months of inactivity.

Remember, you can pair the Citi Rewards Card with Amaze to earn 4 mpd on Points.com purchases, while paying lower FCY fees than banks.
Do not use HSBC cards or the DBS Woman’s World Card for Points.com purchases, as MCC 7399 will not earn bonus points. Also avoid using the Chocolate Visa Card, as it classifies MCC 7399 as a bill payment, and caps customers at earning just 100 Max Miles per month.

| 20% discount on World of Hyatt points |
World of Hyatt has launched a 20% discount on points purchases for the next couple of months, though the cost per point is definitely on the higher side.
I wouldn’t be a buyer at this price, but if you need a small top-up of your account, then perhaps it might make more sense. As a general rule, you should never buy points speculatively. Only buy if you have a definite plan in mind, and burn them as soon as you can!
