The Trust Freedom Card has just added miles as a reward mode, alongside its existing options of cashback or stockback. Cardholders who select this mode will earn 1.3 KrisFlyer miles or Max Miles per S$1 spent both in Singapore and overseas, with no minimum spend or cap.
Given the cash value of Max Miles — 1.8 cents via FlyAnywhere — and the card’s lack of foreign currency (FCY) transaction fees, this could very well become your first-choice card for overseas spending, or even a daily-driver cashback card. I’ve covered the possibilities in a separate post, so please give that a read before coming here.
Trust Freedom Card now earns KrisFlyer and Max Miles, with 100,000 miles sign-up bonus
In this article, I want to take a closer look at the excellent 100,000 Max Miles sign-up bonus that’s also been launched. This requires a hefty minimum spend of S$15,000, but fortunately, there are smaller spending goals of S$1,000 and S$5,000 too.

The Trust Freedom Card is offering a welcome bonus of up to 100,000 Max Miles for new-to-card customers, defined as those who:
- Do not currently hold a principal Trust credit card, and
- Have never held a principal Trust credit card before
Let’s start with the bad news. If you held a principal Trust credit card at any point in the past, you are ineligible for this sign-up bonus. Unlike other banks, Trust new-to-card status does not reset after 6 or 12 months.
If it makes you feel any better, I’m in the same boat, having traded my Trust virginity for a bag of rice back in 2022. A bag of rice! (I’m sure there’s a lesson in there somewhere)
For the avoidance of doubt, holding a principal Standard Chartered credit card does not, in and of itself, disqualify you from new-to-card status with Trust.
Applicants must:
1. Apply for a Trust Freedom Card and receive approval from 21 September to 31 October 2026
2. Select Miles as their rewards mode during the onboarding process (be very careful to select the right option — if you choose cashback or stockback during onboarding, it’s too late to switch back later)
| ⚠️ Update your Trust app first! |
| Before applying for the Freedom Card, ensure your Trust app is updated to the latest version. There have been some complaints from customers who didn’t see Miles listed as a rewards mode during application. |
3. Meet the minimum spend criteria below within the first 31 days of approval or 30 November 2026, whichever comes first
| Min. Spend (within 31 days of approval) |
Max Miles Gift | Total Max Miles |
| S$1,000 | 20,000 | 20,000 |
| S$5,000 | 30,000 | 50,000 |
| S$15,000 | 50,000 | 100,000 |
To be clear, the gifts are cumulative:
- Once you hit S$1,000, you’ll receive a scratch card for 20,000 Max Miles
- Once you spend a further S$4,000 (S$5,000 total), you’ll receive a second scratch card for 30,000 Max Miles
- Once you spend a further S$10,000 (S$15,000 total), you’ll receive a third scratch card for 50,000 Max Miles
This means that the maximum reward that can be earned is 100,000 Max Miles, across three separate scratch cards.
Bonus miles are awarded in addition to the regular earn rate of 1.3 Trust Miles per S$1, so here’s how many miles you’ll earn in total.
| Min. Spend (within 31 days of approval) |
Base Miles (1.3 mpd) |
Bonus Miles |
| S$1,000 | 1,300 Trust Miles | 20,000 Max Miles |
| S$5,000 | 6,500 Trust Miles | 50,000 Max Miles |
| S$15,000 | 19,500 Trust Miles | 100,000 Max Miles |
As a reminder, Trust Miles can be converted into either KrisFlyer miles or Max Miles at a 1:1 ratio, via the Trust app. However, the sign-up bonus is only available in Max Miles, and is redeemed using a voucher code via the HeyMax app.
Is it worth it?
Definitely.
Considering there’s no annual fee, this is easily the one of the most generous sign-up offers on the market right now.
The only other card with a 100,000 miles sign-up bonus now is the StanChart Beyond Card, and that requires a minimum spend of S$20,000 and a S$1,635 annual fee — if you even meet the S$200,000 income requirement in the first place!
To put it another way, those 100,000 Max Miles are worth at least S$1,800 via FlyAnywhere, equivalent to a 12% rebate on the S$15,000 minimum spend. Alternatively, if you convert them into Accor Live Limitless points, you’d have 66,667 ALL points, worth approximately S$1,956 towards hotel stays.
S$15,000 of spending in 31 days is an aggressive target, no doubt, but the welcome offer is progressive and not an “all or nothing” proposition. You can also opt to spend S$1,000 for 20,000 Max Miles, or S$5,000 for 50,000 Max Miles.
When will bonus miles be awarded?
Scratch cards should be awarded within 24 hours after validation, and must be redeemed by 31 December 2026 on the HeyMax app.
How are bonus miles claimed?
To redeem the Max Miles, scratch the card to reveal a code that can be redeemed in the HeyMax app (under Profile > Redeem a Code).

Upon redemption, Max Miles will be credited instantly. There is no fee for redeeming the Max Miles from the sign-up bonus.
What counts as qualifying spend?
Qualifying spend consists of both online and offline transactions made in SGD or FCY, excluding transactions on the Trust Freedom Card’s rewards exclusion list.
The key exclusions to note are:
- Charitable donations (MCC 8398, 8661)
- Cleaning services (MCC 7349)
- Education (MCC 8211, 8220, 8241, 8244, 8249, 8299)
- Government services (MCC 9211, 9222, 9223, 9311, 9399, 9402, 9405)
- GrabPay, YouTrip and other prepaid account top-ups/quasi-cash transactions (MCC 4829, 5960, 6010, 6011, 6012, 6051, 6211, 6300, 6540)
- Insurance premiums (MCC 5960, 6300)
- Real estate managers (MCC 6513)
- Selected services (MCC 7299, 7399, 8999)
- Utilities (MCC 4900)
These transactions will neither earn base Trust Miles, nor count towards qualifying spend for the sign-up bonus.
The exclusions are mostly standard stuff — interestingly, MCC 8062 Hospitals is not mentioned — but there are three excluded MCCs you’ll definitely want to watch for.
| MCC | Description | Examples |
| 7299 | Personal Services Not Elsewhere Classified |
|
| 7399 | Business Services Not Elsewhere Classified |
|
| 8999 | Professional Services Not Elsewhere Classified |
|
MCCs 7299, 7399 and 8999 are used by merchants which don’t fall nicely into an existing category, or as a placeholder until the scheme can decide on a formal MCC. What’s annoying is that they can pop up in random restaurants and stores too — Chagee used MCC 8999 for some time before it switched to 5814.
As a reminder, transactions must be posted within the first 31 days of approval. For example, suppose your 31-day period ends on 5 October 2026. You make a transaction on 3 October 2026, but it only posts on 6 October 2026. That transaction will not count towards the minimum spend.
In other words, don’t leave things until the last moment!
How can I track my qualifying spend?
With 100,000 Max Miles on the line, you definitely don’t want to screw this up. That’s easier said than done, especially given the MCC 7299, 7399 and 8999 issue I highlighted above.
Fortunately, tracking your qualifying spend is fairly straightforward, and can be done across two apps:
- Trust app: Check aggregate qualifying spending
- HeyMax app: Check individual qualifying spending
Trust app
The Trust app is where you can see your aggregate qualifying spending towards the different rewards tiers.
- Open the Trust app > Rewards > Quests
![]()
Only transactions which count towards qualifying spend will show up here. Non-qualifying transactions will not be included. So if the tracker says S$3,500, you can be confident that S$3,500 of your spending counts towards the sign-up bonus.
HeyMax app

| Get 200 Max Miles when you open an account and complete your first transaction |
| Get a HeyMax Account |
Suppose you’ve charged S$4,000 to your Trust Freedom Card so far, but the Trust app only reflects S$3,500 of qualifying spending. One or more of your transactions must not have counted — but which ones?
To answer that, you’ll need to link your Trust Freedom Card to the HeyMax app, which tracks individual qualifying spending.
- Home page > Cards button (next to mile balance), or Profile > My Cards.
- Add card > Trust Freedom Card > Link and verify card.
- Card Settings > Pick the reward mode (Miles)

Once this is done, the Card Maximiser feature will automatically track your spending, and the number of Trust Miles earned. Any transaction which shows 0 Trust Miles is an ineligible transaction that does not count towards qualifying spend.

Make sure to link your Trust Freedom Card before you start spending, because the HeyMax app can only track transactions made after linking.
What can you do with Max Miles?
Max Miles can be converted to more than 20 airline and hotel partners, at a 1:1 ratio for most frequent flyer programmes.
| ✅ HeyMax Transfer Partners All 1:1 unless otherwise stated |
|
| ✈️ Airlines | |
|
|
| 🏨 Hotels | |

|
Alternatively, you can also cash out Max Miles via FlyAnywhere at 1.8 cents per mile, simply by submitting any air ticket booked in the past 30 days.
- Book your air tickets whatever way you like: through the airline’s official website, an OTA, or even a traditional brick-and-mortar travel agency
- Submit a FlyAnywhere redemption request via the HeyMax app
- Get reimbursed for your flight in cash, via PayNow, at a rate of 1.8 cents per Max Mile
Both commercial and award flights are eligible — in the case of the latter, HeyMax will reimburse you for the cash component of the ticket, i.e. taxes and surcharges.
I’ve already mentioned the value you’d get from FlyAnywhere (S$1,800) and ALL points (S$1,956) conversions, but here are some other ideas of what you can do with 100,000 Max Miles.

There are no conversion fees, and Max Miles never expire.
However, do remember that converting Trust Miles into Max Miles entails a S$27.25 fee, and Trust Miles expire at the end of the third year after they were earned (e.g. all Trust Miles earned from 1 January to 31 December 2026 expire on 31 December 2029).

The Trust Freedom Card is now offering up to 100,000 Max Miles for new cardholders who select Miles as their preferred rewards mode. However, this offer is only available to those who have never held a Trust credit card before.
The other tricky bit is that you only have 31 days to meet the minimum spend — quite an ask if you’re gunning for the top spending tier of S$15,000! But if your expenses happen to line up nicely with this window, then this could be a plum opportunity to land a six-figure Max Miles balance.

Is the TRUST Link card considered a credit card for qualification purposes? It’s supposed to be an ATM debit card but does show up on app as a Visa Signature card so unsure if valid? Thank
Does trust card with 1.3 mpd have a monthly cap on overseas transactions?
no cap
I have a question regarding the SCB to Trust migration.I currently have a Trust Savings Account, but I have never held a principal Trust credit card before. My SCB credit card is scheduled to automatically migrate over to Trust on 3 October.I’m eyeing the new 100k miles welcome bonus for the Trust Freedom Card. Since I’m technically “New-to-Card” for Trust, could you let me know if I can safely apply for the Freedom Card after the migration finishes on Oct 3 and still qualify for the sign-up bonus?
Can only join via Hexmax interface…. else there is no miles category as rewards
So I am confused. Is cardup (7399) included or excluded?
What about 8062 hospitals? Possible to confirm if included in the 15k spending?
I’ve tried to sign up using your referral code.. and only see stockback and cashback options as Rewards… there is no “Miles”
As such i have busted my chance 🙁 as a trust virgin
Will proceed to terminate the card
I checked with heymax: you don’t need to apply via heymax to get the miles option, however your app must be updated to the latest version before applying
The system declined my application lol
Same here. Have they received too many applications that they decided to put a pause to it?
Me too – wondering if it’s a FIN vs NRIC issue?
Me too. First time I’ve been rejected for a CC application. Have they received too many applications zzz
Is purchasing HeyMax vouchers to hit the minimum spending a viable option?
well, it counts towards the minimum spend, but it boils down to how much vouchers we’re talking about…
“62,500 miles for Business Class from Singapore to Helsinki (via BA Club)”. Just to be sure, I seem to vaguely recall it was via Finnair?
i booked it via BA club.
If it makes you feel any better, i traded my trust virginity for a *chance* to win a tesla, and no i did not get it 🙂
Is there supplementary card for this? Did not see any option in the app.
Does purchasing large items like household appliances and watches on an installment plan with trust card fully count?
