Emirates is back with yet another sale for flights from Singapore to over 71 destinations in its network. Mostย fares are valid for travel fromย 17 April 2018 to 31 December 2018,ย although some destinations have slightly different travel periods so be sure to look closely.ย Fares must be booked by 23 April 2018ย (selected Australia/NZ destinations need to be booked by 18 April 2018)ย on the Emirates website (purchasing through any of the links on this page supports the running of The Milelion through an affiliate commission)
Economy class fares start from S$419 and business class fares start from S$1,519. For the high SES folks, first class fares are sadly not on offer during this sale. So you won’t be able to enjoy a shower at 40,000 feet, poor you.
During this sale, fares to Perth start from S$429, London Gatwick and Stansted for as low as S$899 and fares to Chicago start from S$1,369. At S$899 to London Gatwick/Stansted, this might be a more competitive rate than choosing to fly with Norwegian as your flights on Norwegian might come out to be more expensive after adding in all the incidentals like baggage and meals.
Emirates serves every destination in their network with either a Boeing 777 or an Airbus A380 laid out in a 3-4-3 configuration in economy class. If I were you, I’d try to go for the flight served using an A380 as your seat width would be a tad wider as compared to the same seat on the Boeing 777.
Also, if you’re not a member of the Skywards program yet it might make sense to apply for one as then you’ll be able to enjoy a discounted rate to access the Emirates business and first class lounge when transiting in Dubai. If you’re not keen to accrue miles in the Skywards program with these flights, you could always credit them to Alaska’s MileagePlan where they might come in particularly handy.
You could use the following cards to book on the Emirates website to maximize your miles earnings.
Credit Card | Miles Per Dollar | Bonus Spend Cap |
DBS Womanโs World Card | 4 | Capped at S$2,000 per month |
DBS Altitude | 3 | Capped at S$5,000 for online airfare and hotels per month |
HSBC Revolution/Maybank Horizonย Visa Signature | 2 | No cap forย HSBC Revolution. Maybank requires you to spend min $300 a month to earn 2 mpd on air tickets. Bonus TREATS points are capped at 30,000 per month, or $7,500 of pure airline spending |
Minor point that Emirates don’t fly to Perth from Singapore so you’ll be routed via Brisbane/Melbourne or on a Qantas codeshare.
The Emirates website also offered me a price of SG$ 3,750,528.00 (yes, 3 million dollars) to fly Perth to Singapore via Melbourne. In Economy.
that’s actually quite a diversion if you think about it
Do you have a screenshot of the 3 million dollar quote? Just for laughs.
