One new program I’m really excited about is KrisFlyer Experiences, a portal that lets you redeem KrisFlyer miles for exclusive events and money-can’t-buy experiences.
KrisFlyer Experiences launched earlier this month with a special contest where the winner received an all-expenses-paid trip for two to the BRIT Awards 2020 in London (although I was surprised that the air tickets were “only” in Business Class- I’d have though that Singapore Airlines would want to go all out to hype up the launch event).
They’ve just announced their first “public” event, which turns out to be a wine tasting session held in conjunction with Robert Parker Wine Advocate, at the Regent Singapore on 1 March 2020.
The details
For 4,000 miles (early bird price, redeem by 7 Feb) or 5,000 miles (regular price) per person, KrisFlyer members can enjoy a wine tasting session at the Grand Pavilion Ballroom at the Regent Singapore. Light refreshments will be served, and over 200 wines will be available for sampling.
The event runs from 11 a.m to 4 p.m, and all attendees will receive a complimentary 1-year subscription to RobertParker.com worth US$99. The first 30 KrisFlyer members with a UOB credit card will also enjoy a special masterclass with Joe Czerwinski, the Managing Editor for Robert Parker Wine Advocate.
Redemptions made are non-refundable, but the FAQ says that if the Wuhan virus situation worsens, the event will be cancelled and miles refunded.
4,000 KrisFlyer miles are worth about S$72 in my book, and I suppose it might be an interesting session to attend if you’re into wines and have some spare miles to burn. As will be the case with all KrisFlyer Experiences, it’s very hard to tell you if a particular event is “worth it”- it really depends on how much the subject matter interests you.
Conclusion
I really wanted to go for this event, not because I’m big on wine tastings, but more because I wanted to see how KrisFlyer runs these sessions.ย However, I’ll be overseas during the weekend in question, so I’m going to have to wait for the next one.
If anyone’s heading down, do snap some photos and let us know how it goes!
I am actually more curious about the answer that wins the return trip to London.
Caz myself submit three results which are quite similar to the answer (even for the 3 nights accommodation).
it’s not about being right per se, it’s about having the most creative answer to the who would you bring and why. i’m sure quite a few people got the answer right
