How to book stays
After purchasing a certificate, you can make a reservation by contacting the reservations team:
- Anantara: reserveanantara@anantara.com
- Avani: reserveavani@avanihotels.com
Certificates are non-refundable, but you can modify your booking within the validity date as necessary, subject to a cancellation window that varies by hotel.
Do note that blackout dates apply at some hotels, typically covering the post-Christmas period and Valentine’s Day. The name on the certificate must match the name on the ID you present at check-in, so you won’t be able to sell these certificates to someone else.
Both Anantara and Avani are part of GHA, but it’s unclear whether these stays will qualify for status benefits or credit earning.
What card should I use to buy Anantara stay certificates?
Anantara stay certificates will code as online foreign currency spending. However, since they’re sold by a 3rd party site called MegaTix, I’m uncertain as to whether they’ll code as travel expenditure.
It’s probably safest to use the cards below:
Earn Rate | Remarks | |
DBS Woman’s World Card Apply here |
4 mpd | Cap of S$2K per c. month |
Citi Rewards Apply here |
4 mpd | Cap of S$1K per s. month |
UOB Visa Signature Apply here |
4 mpd | Min S$1K max S$2K FCY spend per s. month |
SCB X Card Apply here |
3 mpd | Until 30 Jun 20. Min spend S$2K per c. month |
SCB Visa Infinite |
3 mpd | Min spend S$2K per s. month |
S. Month= Statement Month | C. Month= Calendar Month |
Conclusion
Anantara is also selling gift cards with a 30% bonus, which can be redeemed at many of the properties listed here. If you’re less certain about which property you want to stay at, you could always lock in a (smaller) discount by buying one of these.
As with all prepaid stay certificates, the main risk you take is the company liquidating, or travel restrictions not being lifted in time. In this case, you have until 30 June 2021 to stay, which should hopefully be more than sufficient, but who really knows with all that’s going on.

It’s not cheap!
