Hilton More Nights, More Points Promo: Earn 2-3X points on stays

Expired

Register now and stay from 3 May to 6 September 2021. Earn 2X points on 1-2 night stays, and 3X points on 3 nights or more.

Hilton Honors has revealed the details of its next global promotion called More Nights, More Points, which is valid for stays between 3 May and 6 September 2021.

The good news is that the new promotion starts the day after the current Points Unlimited promotion ends, leaving no gap in between.

Hilton More Nights, More Points Promo

Hilton More Nights, More Points

Under the More Nights, More Points promotion, registered Hilton Honors members will earn:

  • 2X Hilton Honors points when staying 1 or 2 nights
  • 3X Hilton Honors points when staying 3 or more nights

Registration is now open, and stays must be made between 3 May and 6 September 2021. The 2X/3X applies to the base points, which means which means you’ll earn as follows:

Points per US$1
  Base* Promo Elite Total
Member 10 10/20 0 20/30
Silver 10 10/20 2 22/32
Gold 10 10/20 8 28/38
Diamond 10 10/20 10 30/40
*Stays at Tru and Home2 properties earn 5 base points per US$1, but I doubt any Singapore-based Hilton member is going to stay at one of them anytime soon

There is no cap on the maximum bonus points you can earn, and they will be credited within 6-8 weeks following your stay. The FAQ can be found here.

A Hilton point is worth about 0.5 US cents, so you’re looking at a rebate of 10-20% on your stays, depending on Honors tier and stay duration. I can’t see many staycations being more than 2 nights long, but if the Hong Kong ATB opens up, perhaps longer stays will be on the cards.

Since base points are awarded based on how much you spend, you won’t earn anything under this promotion if you redeem Hilton points for an award night.

How does this compare to the current promotion?

The current Points Unlimited promotion offers 2,000 bonus points with every stay, and 5,000 bonus points after every 5 nights. The main advantage of this promotion is that it’s tied to stays/nights instead of money spent, so you’d earn bonus points even if you were redeeming an award night (bad idea for staycations, given all the deals we’re seeing)

If you were mostly doing 1 night staycations, the rate at which you’ll be indifferent between the old and new promos is US$200 (before taxes and service charge):

  • Current Promo: 2,000 bonus points per stay
  • New Promo: US$200 x 1 night x 10 = 2,000 bonus points

If you were doing 2 night staycations, however, you’re likely to find the new promotion better assuming you pay at least US$100 per night (before taxes and service charge):

  • Current Promo: 2,000 bonus points per stay
  • New Promo: US$100 x 2 nights x 10 = 2,000 bonus points

Conclusion

A triple points offer is as good as it gets for Hilton promos, and hopefully there’ll be some overseas travel opportunities to come during this period. Take a minute to register, just in case.

I’ve already reviewed both the Hilton Singapore and Conrad Centennial Singapore, which represent all the Hilton properties currently available (HGI Serangoon continues to serve as a SHN facility). With some luck, there’ll be other Hilton properties to stay at in the second half of this year.
