Klook 12.12 Sale: Staycation deals and extra savings for Atome payments

Klook has unveiled its lineup of 12.12 deals, which run from 10-12 December 2021. On sale are staycations at Dusit Thani Laguna, Sofitel Sentosa, Fairmont Singapore and the newly-reopened SO/Sofitel, as well as promotions on attraction tickets and tours.

Customers who pay with Atome can also save up to S$40 off their bookings, while DBS/POSB cardholders can save S$20 off a S$200 e-gift card (which can be further stacked with promo codes and SRV). 

Staycation Deals

Klook’s big deal for 12.12 is a 1-for-1 stay at the Dusit Thani Laguna, which comes with two nights and breakfast for S$824 nett for stays from 1 January to 31 March 2022. 

Now, it’s common knowledge that you should take all of Klook’s “1-for-1” deals with a liberal pinch of salt, because the savings are based on the rarely-paid rack rate. For example, a two night weekend stay in January at the Dusit Thani Laguna with breakfast would cost about S$920 nett- you’re really saving ~10% only!

That said, it’s possible to knock a further S$40 and 10% off the stay by stacking further savings from Atome promo codes and e-gift cards (see below), so it might be worth a look- but only if you’d already decided to stay at this hotel.

None of these rates fall into “must-book” territory, in and of themselves (and for Accor properties, you should definitely check out Accor’s ongoing flash sale). However, if you’re able to stack the following promo codes and discounts, you might have a better deal on your hands.

Further savings for SRV redemptions

For the month of December, customers paying with SRVs can enjoy further savings with selected credit cards or GrabPay.

You’ll need to spend at least S$10 of your SRV to enjoy these promo codes, which makes me wish I didn’t burn them all at one go…

Atome promo codes

Klook is partnering with BNPL provider Atome to offer the following promo codes on 12.12:

• 9 a.m: S$40 off min. S$200 (1212ATOME40)
• 12 p.m: S$30 off min. S$180 (1212ATOME30)
• 3 p.m: S$20 off min. S$150 (1212ATOME20)
• 6 p.m: S$10 off min. S$100 (1212ATOME10)

Atome allows you to split your payments into three monthly installments, without any interest or fees. You’ll still earn credit card rewards as per normal, including up to 4 mpd with the HSBC Revolution and the DBS Woman’s World Card. 

This helps conserve the 4 mpd caps on specialised spending cards- suppose you’re paying for a S$1,500 purchase. If you paid it all at one shot with the HSBC Revolution, you’d earn 4 mpd on S$1,000 and 0.4 mpd on S$500 (since the HSBC Revolution caps 4 mpd at S$1,000 per month).

With Atome, you can pay S$500 per month for 3 months, earning 4 mpd on the entire amount. It’s a simple way to maximise your credit card rewards and conserve your cashflow, provided it doesn’t entice you to spend beyond your means.

Enjoy S$20 off S$200 Klook e-gift card

DBS/POSB cardholders will enjoy S$20 off the purchase of a S$200 Klook e-gift card. The discount will be automatically reflected at the time of payment, with no promo code required. 

Klook e-gift cards have no expiry date, and can be stacked together with Klook credits and other promo codes (including SRV) when paying for purchases. They’re basically as good as cash on the Klook platform, and an easy way to save 10%.

Conclusion
