I can’t think of a single person who doesn’t have a KrisFlyer account by now, but if you do, now’s the time to cash in on that relationship.
From now till 1 September 2022, Singapore Airlines is offering up to 16,000 miles for referring family and friends to join KrisFlyer.

From 5 August to 1 September 2022, existing KrisFlyer members will earn 800 miles for every new member they refer, capped at 16,000 miles (i.e. 20 members).
New members must apply with the promo code KFFRIEND, and indicate their referrer’s KrisFlyer membership number during the registration process. The new member will earn 800 miles immediately upon enrolment.
For the referrer to earn 800 miles, the referee must make at least one qualifying transaction on their newly-opened Krisflyer account between 5 August and 30 November 2022.
- KrisFlyer miles accrual or redemption on Singapore Airlines or Scoot
- KrisFlyer miles accrual from eligible partners
- KrisFlyer miles accrual via KrisShop transactions
- KrisFlyer miles accrual via Pelago bookings
- Miles accrual via Kris+ partners, subsequently transferred to KrisFlyer account
- Conversion of reward points from eligible partner programmes to KrisFlyer
A simple way of triggering the bonus would be to make a transaction at any Kris+ merchant, then immediately transfer the miles earned to the newly-opened KrisFlyer account. Remember, you only have seven days to transfer the miles; delay any longer, and they’ll be permanently stuck in Kris+.

KrisFlyer miles earned from this promotion (whether for the referrer or new member) will be credited within 4-6 weeks after the end of the promotional period, i.e. by 13 October 2022.

How does this compare to the previous referral programme?
We last saw a referral campaign back in early 2020, where KrisFlyer members could earn 500 miles for each new member referred, up to a maximum of 10,000 miles. There was also a bonus of 21,000 miles for the top three referrers.
This current campaign is therefore more generous on a per referee basis, though it lacks the 21,000 miles kicker.
Conclusion
KrisFlyer is offering members 800 bonus miles per referral, capped at a maximum of 16,000 miles. That’s just shy of a round-trip Economy Class ticket to Bali, or a one-way ticket to Hong Kong or Taiwan (soon, hopefully).
If you happen to know a friend or family member who doesn’t have a KrisFlyer account yet, starting them on their miles journey could earn you a nice little bonus too.
