Itโs been a while since we last saw a Marriott Bonvoy global promotion. The most recent promotion ended on 4 May 2022, and the chain decided against offering one for the busy summer travel period.
At least thereโll be something to look forward to this fall. Marriott Bonvoy has announced a new promotion which covers stays from 21 September to 15 December 2022. Registered members can earn 2,000 bonus points per stay, from the second stay onwards.

Registration is now open for Marriott Bonvoyโs latest global promotion. Registered members will earn:
- 2,000 bonus points per stay, from the second stay onwards
- 2,000 bonus points for each stay at a different brand, from the second brand onwards (only for cobrand Marriott cardholders)
This is valid for stays from 21 September to 15 December 2022. Stays booked before registration will qualify; all that matters is your check-in date.
Do note the following:
- Registration is required prior to the first eligible stay, and closes on 1 December 2022
- Award stays donโt count towards this promotion
- Bonus points will post within seven business days of check-out
- No minimum length of stay is required to earn the bonus points
All Marriott Bonvoy hotels around the world are participating, and there is no cap on the maximum number of bonus points you can earn.
Is this promotion worth it?
1 Marriott Bonvoy point is worth about 0.7 US cents, so this is equal to earning ~US$14 extra per stay.
Youโll obviously get more value by making short stays at cheap properties, so anyone visiting Malaysia or Indonesia and doesnโt mind hotel hopping could get some good value out of this.
For context, the previous global promotion offered 1,000 bonus points per night, as well as 2X elite nights. Thatโs clearly a much better proposition, but given the wave of revenge travel weโre seeing now, Marriott probably doesnโt need help filling up rooms.

Marriott Bonvoyโs latest global promotion will start on 21 September 2022, and offer registered members 2,000 bonus points per stay from the second stay onwards. It only takes a minute to register, and it doesnโt hurt to do so even if you donโt have any upcoming stays planned.
This could be especially useful for anyone travelling to a country with low-cost Marriott properties, since the bonus is independent of the room rate.
