Kris+ offering up to 7 mpd on Comfort taxi bookings

From now till 31 March 2023, book CDG taxi rides on the Kris+ app and earn up to 7 mpd with the right cards.

KrisFlyer has announced a partnership with Comfort Delgro’s CDG Zig, which enables taxi bookings to be made within the Kris+ app.

This offers Kris+ users a bonus 3 mpd on their taxi rides up till 31 March 2023, and 0.33 mpd after that. You can stack this with miles from the right cards to earn up to 7 mpd in total.

Earn a bonus 3 mpd on CDG taxi bookings

Kris+ users can now book CDG taxi rides via the Kris+ app and earn bonus miles:

  • From now till 31 March 2023, they will earn 3 miles per S$1 spent
  • From 1 April 2023 onwards, they will earn 1 mile per S$3 spent

To book a taxi, update your Kris+ app to the latest version and look for the “Book A Taxi” icon at the top right of the screen.

You’ll then be brought to an in-app login screen for CDG Zig, where you enter your mobile number and OTP. After that, you can book your ride as per normal (a S$0.30 platform fee will be levied, together with a further surcharge to cover any extra costs like ERP- this is refundable if not used).

Finally, you’ll be sent back to the Kris+ app where you’ll chose how you want to pay: with card (via Google/Apple Pay), KrisPay miles, or a combination of the two.

The overall process is rather clunky: since the map isn’t optimised for browser viewing, it lags badly when scrolling, and you’ll need to login again every time your token expires. However, the applet is still in beta mode, so hopefully they sort this out soon.

Kris+ miles will be credited after the trip is completed, and as always, must be transferred to KrisFlyer within seven days of accrual. If you fail to do so, the miles will be stuck inside Kris+ where they expire after six months, and can only be spent at a rate of 150 miles= S$1.

What card should you use for CDG taxi bookings via Kris+?

A bonus 3 mpd on taxi bookings is very enticing indeed, especially when you can stack it with 4 mpd from the following cards.

While Comfort taxi rides normally code as MCC 4121, when processed via Kris+ the MCC becomes 4789 (Transportation services Not Elsewhere Classified). Unfortunately, this means it will not trigger the bonuses on the HSBC Revolution or UOB Lady’s Cards.

๐ŸŽ  CDG Taxi Rides via Kris+
Card Earn Rate
Remarks
DBS Woman’s World Card
Apply
4 mpd Cap at S$2K per c. month
KrisFlyer UOB Credit Card
Apply
3 mpd No min. spend required

Even though the Citi Rewards Card will earn 4 mpd with the CDG app, you won’t earn 4 mpd when you pay via Kris+ because of the clause regarding in-app wallet payments.

Conclusion

Kris+ users can now book CDG taxis via the Kris+ app, earning a bonus 3 mpd until 31 March 2023 and 0.33 mpd afterwards.

If you don’t mind the slightly cumbersome interface, it’s a chance to rack up 7 mpd on taxi rides, at no additional cost to you (well, assuming CDG’s cheaper than Grab or gojek).

can you stack it with the SCB 7.7mpd instead? since its the MCC 4121

Ryan

It’s a very interesting proposition (effectively you are paying 30 cents to earn the miles).

However the earn rate from 1 April is pretty poor, and is weird cos that’s significantly lower than any other Kris+ merchants at the moment (even Challenger/Harvey Norman would be 9 times better). Probably me overthinking, but could this be a foreshadowing of what might happen to merchants come 1 April 2023? Worried cos that’s when new FY starts, who knows what budget Kris+ will have given travel is returning to normal.

Can Apple Pay with uob Ppv get 7mpd?

Ken

How about Apple Pay?

Canโ€™t do advance booking on app only immediate rides. If need advance booking need to use the zig app. Kinda of silly limitation Iโ€™d say

I’m a frequent (daily) user of the CDG app, but I pay with PayLah instead of credit cards as CDG charges a 10% admin fee for payment by cards – am I right to say that the admin fee is charged on the Kris+ app as well, since it is still a payment by card?

I just read CDG’s T&Cs again, CDG charges 10% for card payment, and $0.30 for other platforms. So since a $0.30 gets levied for Kris+, maybe it is not treated as card payment but platform payment – maybe I will just try booking through Kris+ tomorrow and let you guys know ๐Ÿ˜‰

(Just a note that the fee waiver is currently applicable to DBS cards as well, not just PayLah!)

thanks for the info Louis! And yes Kris+ bookings do not incurr 10% admin fee, however I still make my bookings on the CDG app for now since Kris+ only offers ComfortRide, while going by meter is cheaper for most instances (cross checked on CDG app).

Tried using Krispay (used hsbc revo) to book comfort. Mcc is 4789, while mcc for comfort app is 4121. Hence did not get bonus miles on my revo card

Second this. Chatted with HSBC over chat via the website. They said – KrisPay*Comfort Transp Singapore MCC Code 4789, thus not eligible.

Worth removing HSBC Revo from this list

Just checking its work even i use kris+> google pay > amaze > crmc right?

Kris+ using CDG doesn’t makes sense. You pay 30 cents more while getting a miserable 30+ miles (for a cab fare average $10+), not forgetting comfortride is on average 20-30% more expensive than meter, all these while on an app that is super laggy and hangs, risking your booking and having to rebook. At the same time, your 30 cents is not in the receipt in case you are claiming cab and past 31 March, one would be a fool to use kris+ for cdg without the bonus earn rate.
