KrisFlyer UOB Credit Card offering up to 6,000 bonus miles on SIA bookings

Expired

From 3-16 November 2023, earn up to 6,000 bonus miles on SIA bookings, plus S$50 in KrisPay miles and a 24/28" luggage.

For several months this year, UOB has been running a bonus miles promotion for KrisFlyer UOB Credit Cardholders that gives 1,500 bonus miles per S$500 spent on Singapore Airlines tickets, capped at a maximum of 6,000 miles.

This offer has been renewed for another run from 3-16 November 2023, with the same terms as before and a refreshed cap of 1,000 awards.

This ties in with the ongoing Time to Fly fair, so be on the lookout for stacking opportunities such as:

  •  S$50 worth of KrisPay miles, available to Mastercard cardholders who spend at least S$800 on SIA tickets
  • 24/28″ luggage, available to UOB cardholders who spend at least S$2,000/3,000 on SIA tickets

Up to 6,000 bonus miles on SIA ticket bookings

Apply Here

From 3-16 November 2023, KrisFlyer UOB Credit Cardholders who make new Singapore Airlines flight tickets via singaporeair.com or the SingaporeAir mobile app can register for this promotion by sending the following SMS to 77862:

📱 SMS to 77862
SQUOB<space>Last 4 alphanumeric digits of NRIC/Passport<space>booking reference number
e.g. SQUOB 567A ABC123

Registered cardholders will earn a bonus of 1,500 KrisFlyer miles for every S$500 cumulatively spent.  A maximum of 1,000 such awards are available, and each cardholder is capped at four awards.

For example, if I make two separate bookings of S$400 and S$700, registering both will entitle me to 3,000 bonus KrisFlyer miles (assuming the cap hasn’t been met). It doesn’t matter that one booking is <S$500, all that matter is the cumulative spending.

At the risk of stating the obvious, since a booking reference number is required, you’ll need to book your itinerary first before registering to claim your miles.

A few other points worth noting:

  • A separate SMS must be sent for every booking made (every booking, not every ticket- a booking has six digit alphanumeric PNR and can contain multiple tickets)
  • Not including payments made for rebooking or reissuance of air tickets, or in respect of redemption air tickets made with KrisFlyer miles
  • Bookings must be for flights where the first board point of the entire flight itinerary must be departing from Singapore only

This stacks with the regular uncapped 3 mpd that KrisFlyer UOB Credit Cardholders normally earn on Singapore Airlines, Scoot, KrisShop and Kris+ transactions, so your total earn rate could be as high as 6 mpd, assuming you manage to spend in blocks of exactly S$500 (which is unlikely).

Buying Singapore Airlines tickets also counts towards the S$800 minimum SIA Group spend required to earn 3 mpd on dining, food delivery, online shopping, travel and transport under the Accelerated Miles feature of the card.

When will I receive my miles?

If you meet the eligibility criteria, the bonus miles will be credited to your KrisFlyer account by 29 February 2024.

The full T&Cs for this KrisFlyer UOB Credit Card promotion can be found at the bottom of this page, under the KrisFlyer UOB Credit/Debit Card box.

Is it worth it?

While bonus miles are always nice, there are better alternatives for racking up miles on Singapore Airlines tickets. The cards below will earn 4-6 mpd on such transactions, without the need to spend in S$500 blocks.

However, if you prefer to save their caps for other transactions, then using the KrisFlyer UOB Credit Card for a guaranteed 3 mpd plus a shot at an extra 1,500-6,000 miles wouldn’t be a terrible idea.

Alternatively, you could consider the newly-enhanced Maybank Horizon Visa Signature, which offers 3.2 mpd on up to S$10,000 of air tickets for a limited time.

Get S$50 of KrisPay miles

KrisFlyer UOB Credit Cardholders can stack the bonus miles with a separate promotion that Mastercard is running.

From 3-16 November 2023, Mastercard cardholders who spend at least S$800 on Singapore Airlines tickets via singaporeair.com, SingaporeAir mobile app or Singapore Airlines appointed agents will receive S$50 of KrisPay miles.

Registration is required, and can be done here. Just like the 1,500 bonus miles offer, registration requires your booking reference number and flight details, so you can only register after you’ve made your booking.

A maximum of S$50 KrisPay miles will be issued per booking reference, and a total of 300 such awards are available for redemption. KrisPay miles will be credited by 29 February 2024, and must be spent within six months.

Luggage redemption

From 3-16 November 2023, UOB cardholders can redeem a:

  • 24″ luggage (worth S$169), with a minimum spend of S$2,000 on SIA tickets
  • 28″ luggage (worth S$209), with a minimum spend of S$3,000 on SIA tickets

Registration is required, and can be done via SMS:

📱 SMS to 77862
24″ Luggage 28″ Luggage

e.g. UOBSQH224 DDMMYY 567A
UOBSQH228<space>DOB<space>Last 4 alphanumeric characters of NRIC
e.g. UOBSQH228 DDMMYY 567A

Redemptions are available “while stocks last”. No mention is made of the brand, but I’ll say you probably shouldn’t expect Rimowa.

Conclusion

KrisFlyer UOB Credit Cardholders can now earn up to 6,000 bonus miles on their Singapore Airlines tickets, together with an extra S$50 KrisPay miles and a 24/28″ luggage. This is a nice stacking combo, should you have your eye on any of the Time to Fly fares.

Because of the caps, it’s best to think of these as potential bonuses rather than actual entitlements, so once you’ve bought your tickets, be sure to do your registrations ASAP.

It has been a month since applied for this card. Still no update. LOL UOB

Fees

Is it any SQ ticket on singaporeair.com? I still can’t believe that Amex Krisflyer cards don’t give any bonus miles for SQ tickets on singaporeair.com unless the ticket originates from Singapore and is charged in SGD. Co-brand? Ridiculous.

Anthony

Last year, I’ve bought ex-KUL and still got the bonus miles etc.
Co-brand benefit in SG is a joke TBH. Look at US market and the sign up bonuses since decades ago.

KFC

I’ve send the SMS to 77862 but didn’t receive any confirmation SMS from UOB for the successful registered. No sure what go wrong.

Carey

Is it last four digits of credit card number or IC? Weird to say passport or IC when booking tickets, I don’t have to use either lol

Rui

There is also a promotion on free duffle bag or luggage for UOB cardholders from $800, just another sms to send! Haha

VKR

Is this applicable to bookings on Scoot as well or is it just Singapore Airlines

Smeedee

I went to the SQ fair at Suntec on Friday, and I thought I saw that this promo had been fully redeemed that day already!
