UOB has launched a new bonus miles offer for all three versions of the UOB PRVI Miles Card, which offers registered cardholders up to 5 mpd on overseas in-person dining and shopping spend.
This is valid from now till 30 June 2023, and is basically a repeat of the offer we saw in November 2022.
A minimum spend of S$1,000 and overall cap of S$4,000 applies for the entire promotion period, which means you can earn up to 10,400 additional bonus miles.

Earn up to 5 mpd on overseas dining & shopping
From 1 May to 30 June 2023, UOB PRVI Miles Cardholders can register for this promotion by sending the following SMS to 77862:

There is no cap on the number of cardholders who can register.
Once registered, cardholders who spend at least S$1,000 on eligible dining and shopping transactions (defined below) will earn bonus miles as follows:

The maximum bonus (2.6 mpd) is capped at 10,400 miles, or S$4,000 of eligible spending during the entire promotion period. There is no cap on the base miles (2.4 mpd) you can earn.
Supplementary cardholders are eligible to participate in this promotion, but their spending will count towards the cap of the principal cardholder.
You will only be able to enjoy this promotion once across all card accounts, regardless of how many UOB PRVI Miles Cards you hold. For example, if you hold both the UOB PRVI Miles AMEX and UOB PRVI Miles Visa, you will only be able to enjoy the offer on one card.
What counts as eligible transactions?
A minimum of S$1,000 must be spent on eligible overseas transactions during the promotion period. Do note that transactions must be charged in foreign currency, so pairing the UOB PRVI Miles Mastercard with Amaze would not work (since Amaze converts all transactions into SGD).
Eligible overseas transactions are defined below.
Overseas dining
Overseas dining refers to in-store transactions made at merchants with the following MCCs.

It’s a fairly generous definition of dining, even including places you might not have thought of like supermarkets, pharmacies and wine stores. If you’re planning on loading up on booze while overseas, this might be an excellent opportunity to make some hay.
Remember, if you want to verify the MCC before spending, there’s an easy way of doing so.

Overseas shopping refers to in-store transactions made at merchants with the following MCCs.

Again, UOB is casting a very wide net, so whether it’s duty-free, clothes, shoes or electronics, you’ll be able to enjoy the bonus.
When will I receive my miles?
Base UNI$ (equivalent to 2.4 mpd) will be posted along with the transaction as per normal.
Bonus UNI$ (equivalent to 2.6 mpd) will be credited to your account by 31 July 2023.

From now till 30 June 2023, UOB PRVI Miles Cardholders can register to earn 5 mpd on overseas dining and shopping.
This would make it the highest-earning option in this category, but because there’s a 3.25% FCY fee with all transactions, some might still prefer to pair the Amaze with the Citi Rewards Card instead (with a 1.5% fee).
A S$1,000 minimum spend applies, but you have two months to hit it. Don’t forget the cap of S$4,000 as well, which applies to the entire promotional period, and the fact that you can only enjoy this bonus on one UOB PRVI Miles Card, no matter how many you hold.
I wish UOB would just make it for all overseas spend. Even though the net may be fairly wide, you will no doubt end up with cases that don’t qualify – and in a worst case this could cause you to inadvertently not hit the $1000 spend limit and you end up with nothing! If they want to offer a promption like this, why not just make it for all overseas transactions? Typical UOB. Why do they have to make everything so complicated?
What about restaurants inside hotels? Will it qualify for this promotion?

Hmm, you are right! I just checked the App and it’s showing as free now, plus no charges on my latest OTPs. However, I am pretty sure it was not always so. Anyways, this makes my life so much easier!
How about payment to hotel accommodation?
Very strange way to register via SMS when they have an app and card holders who are already overseas have to pay global SMS rates.

what’s the point of promotion if you gotta sign up, uob should just make it eligible for every cardholder, it’s not like everyone will go out of their way to spend $4000 abroad in two months anyway. plus, if they can’t anticipate too many people joining the program, why have the program in the first place?
If I have the supplementary card holder, will her overseas dining and shopping transactions also be covered if I register as a primary card holder? Since technically is one card?

I can tell you that UOB has not honoured this promotion and despite several calls, their rewards team, supposedly REJECTED awarding me the bonus miles due to me, with no reason given whatsoever. Even though on one of my calls, an officier manually went through with me on the big ticket transactions, give the MCC and added and was clearly above the min $1,000 foreign currency spend. I was sure that I registered with the SMS and got a reply on the promotion.
