GHA DISCOVERY Cyber Monday: 2X D$ and up to 50% off hotel stays

GHA DISCOVERY has launched its Cyber Monday sale, which offers 2X Discovery Dollars (D$) on all bookings, as well as discounts of up to 50% on hotel stays. 

This is further stackable with other ongoing GHA DISCOVERY promotions, like an extra D$15 for booking via the app.

From 26 November 2023 (8 a.m SGT) to 30 November 2023 (8 a.m SGT), GHA DISCOVERY members will earn 2X D$ on all bookings made via the GHA DISCOVERY app/website. 

No registration is required for this offer, and there is no minimum stay nor spend requirement. 

Bookings made prior to 26 November 2023 will not be eligible for this offer, so you may want to consider cancelling your existing reservation and rebooking, assuming it’s refundable and the rates haven’t shot up.

While stays must be booked during this period, the actual stay date can be any time up till 24 February 2024. Any stays with check-out after this date will not receive 2X D$. 

Depending on their DISCOVERY tier, members can expect to earn anywhere from a 8-14% rebate on their stays. 

Do note that the bonus D$ earned under this promotion (and all promotions, for that matter) are subject to a 6-month expiry from the date of issuance, regardless of tier. For example, a Titanium member who spends US$100 under this promotion would earn D$14, of which D$7 follows the regular 24-month expiry, and D$7 follows an accelerated 6-month expiry.

As for the hotel savings, the maximum discount depends on the region. 

From what I can see, most hotels are offering discounts in the 30% range. 

Cancellation policies for the Cyber Monday sale differ by property; some offer flexible cancellation, others are non-cancellable. Be sure to review the terms for your specific property before pulling the trigger.

How do Discovery $ work?

D$1 can be redeemed for US$1 at GHA properties worldwide. 

D$ can be earned or redeemed on the following expenses:

A minimum of D$10 must be spent in a single transaction. It’s currently only possible to use D$ during a stay, at the front desk of a hotel. You cannot redeem D$ online, nor can you spend them on F&B or spa treatments when not an in-house guest. GHA says they are working to add such functionality, but there is no timeline yet as to when it’ll be available.

It is possible to use D$ on prepaid stays however, insofar as the hotel doesn’t actually charge your card at the time of booking (you’d be surprised, many “prepaid stays” aren’t actually charged until check-in). My advice would be to contact the hotel beforehand, let them know you want to book a prepaid rate with D$, and ask them how to proceed.

Only stays booked through the GHA website or official hotel websites/channels will be eligible to earn D$.

Since the Citi Rewards Card doesn’t award 4 mpd for hotel transactions, pairing it with the Amaze isn’t an option. You can, however, pair the UOB Lady’s Card (with travel selected as your 10X category) with Amaze to earn 6 mpd with minimal FCY fees.
