Back in 2016, OCBC relaunched the Titanium Card as the Titanium Rewards Card, adding 10X points for online and offline shopping and turning what used to be a colossal dumpster fire into a pretty useful card.
Eight years later, it’s going to drop the Titanium branding in favour of a simpler name: the OCBC Rewards Card. The card is also getting a redesign that looks like it borrowed heavily from Citibank- though I suppose no one can really lay claim to the design language of concentric circles!
OCBC Titanium Rewards rebrand
From 15 January 2024, the OCBC Titanium Rewards Card will drop the “Titanium” moniker and be known simply as the OCBC Rewards Card.
The change is purely cosmetic. In addition to the new design, newly-issued OCBC Rewards Cards will be made from Poly Lactic Acid (PLA), a bio-sourced material made from corn. This is supposedly more sustainable than the Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) plastic that make up most of cards in circulation now.
If you’re holding an existing OCBC Titanium Rewards Card, you can continue to use it until expiry, whereupon it will be replaced by the new look card. More importantly, the Blue and Pink cards will retain their separate 10X caps, though good luck telling them apart once the replacements are issued since they’ll be identical in every way except for card number.
However, the demarketing of the Blue and Pink variants mean that new applicants will no longer be able to hold more than one OCBC Rewards Card (since there’s only one product to apply for). This means they’ll be capped at earning 4 mpd on up to S$1,110 of monthly spend, versus legacy cardholders who can repeat that on a second card.

OCBC Rewards Card 6 mpd promo
As a reminder, the OCBC Rewards Card is currently offering an upsized 6 mpd on TANGS and SHEIN. This is capped at S$1,000 per calendar month, and valid up till 31 March 2024.

OCBC Titanium Rewards launches quarterly 6 mpd promo with TANGS & SHEIN
OCBC is positioning this as a quarterly promotion, with new merchants to come in the future. It’s certainly welcome, though I suspect for many it won’t change how they view the card following the loss of its annual 4 mpd cap.
You should also be aware of a clawback clause that gives OCBC the right to clawback the bonus miles should you cancel your card within six months of the end of the promotion. This provision is commonly found on welcome offers, and it’s the first time I’ve seen it applied to an offer for existing cardholders.

That said, it’s hard to think of something it does that other rewards cards, such as the Citi Rewards, HSBC Revolution or UOB Lady’s Card, can’t do better. Therefore, I’d only advise you to get the OCBC Rewards if you regularly max out the bonuses on those other cards.
Conclusion
The OCBC Titanium Rewards Card will be dropping its “Titanium” label, but otherwise remains the same card as before. Whether that’s a good or bad thing, well, that’s for the market to decide.
The biggest implication I can think of is that new applicants will no longer be able to get two OCBC Rewards Cards, since the Blue and Pink are effectively being combined into a single product going forward. However, existing Blue and Pink cardholders can continue to enjoy a double cap as before- just that they might have some trouble telling their cards apart come replacement time.
What do you make of the new OCBC Rewards Card design?
Hopefully new tnc for this card next time will not be limited to rewards card like what happen to ocbc titanium to ocbc titanium reward.
Hell bunch of confusion and requires customer to reapply the same card
The best name for this card would be the OCBC Useless Card. As that best describes the benefit it has.
Looks like a halfbaked Citi Rewards wannabe. I’m staying away from OCBC cards.
