Win 116,000 KrisFlyer miles with Kris+ and iStudio

From now till 30 November 2024, pay with Kris+ at iStudio and stand a chance to win 116,000 miles, on top of the usual 1 mpd rate.

The new Apple iPhone 16 has arrived, and with prices ranging from S$1,299 to S$2,499, will put a significant dent in your wallet.

That said, if you’ve decided to take the plunge anyway, you might as well get the most bang for your buck. I’ve already covered the best ways of maximising miles on an iPhone 16 purchase, but Kris+ has now launched a lucky draw with iStudio that offers a grand prize of 116,000 miles, on top of the usual earn rates of up to 5 mpd from the app and your credit card.

We saw a similar draw last year to mark the iPhone 15’s launch, but the prize back then was smaller at 104,000 miles.

Kris+ x iStudio 116,000 miles draw

Details

From 20 September to 30 November 2024, every Kris+ payment of at least S$80 (before GST) made at iStudio will earn 1x chance to win 116,000 KrisPay miles.

For avoidance of doubt, Kris+ users will earn chances regardless of payment method used, whether it’s entirely with cash, entirely with KrisPay miles, or a mixture of the two. That said, you probably don’t want to spend miles via Kris+, given the low valuation.

Kris+ users can accrue as many entries as they wish, but a larger transaction cannot be split into smaller payments to gain multiple entries. This means that your four-digit iPhone 16 purchase will earn just a single chance, so I wouldn’t really consider this to be a compelling reason to switch where you buy your iPhone.

The winner of the lucky draw will be announced via iStudio’s social media platforms, and can convert their prize into 116,000 KrisFlyer miles, but only within 21 days of awarding. If they wait longer than 21 days, or spend any portion via Kris+, the remaining balance will be stuck inside Kris+, where it can only be spent at 0.67 cents per mile with a six-month validity.

Kris+ is accepted at all 18 iStudio store locations across Singapore. A 10% discount applies to selected third party products and accessories, upsized to 15% for PPS Club members. And before someone asks, no- there’s no discount on the iPhone, or any Apple accessories for that matter.

Lucky draw chances are awarded on top of the usual 1 mile per S$1 spent, which has no minimum spend nor cap.

What card should you use?

Kris+ payments at iStudio will code as online purchases under MCC 5732 (Electronics Stores).

You can use the following cards to earn up to 4 mpd extra, for an overall earn rate of 5 mpd.

Where will 116,000 miles get you?

Istanbul

Kris+ advertises the 116,000 miles prizes as equivalent to a round-trip Singapore Airlines Business Class flight to Istanbul, but that’s not the only place you can go.

Based on Business Saver prices, 116,000 miles would be enough for a round-trip ticket to:

  • Busan
  • Fukuoka
  • Nagoya
  • Osaka
  • Seoul
  • Tokyo Haneda
  • Tokyo Narita

Other ways to earn miles on the iPhone 16

Paying with Kris+ at iStudio is one way of earning extra miles on your iPhone 16 purchase, but it’s not the only way.

I’ve covered the other strategies for stacking miles, optimising the bonus caps or even outright changing the MCC for this purchase, so be sure to refer to the following post for all the details.

Conclusion

iStudio has launched a lucky draw for Kris+ users, who can win a grand prize of 116,000 miles on top of the usual 1 mpd earn rate. Keep in mind, you don’t have to buy an iPhone 16 to be eligible for the draw- any purchase that costs at least S$80 before GST will earn chances.

As always, don’t forget to transfer any miles earned via Kris+ to your KrisFlyer account immediately. A big transfer button appears after every transaction, so there’s no excuse to forget!
