In 2019, Accor announced that a second Raffles Hotel would be opening in Singapore, this time on Sentosa Island. This marks a symbolic return to the brand’s origins, as the original Raffles Hotel was once a beachfront property before land reclamation in the 1840s moved it inland (why else do you think it’s located on “Beach” Road?).
The all-villa Raffles Sentosa Singapore, operated in partnership with real estate developer Royal Group, was originally slated to open in 2022. However, COVID-related construction woes and the travel downturn caused the timeline to be repeatedly pushed back, from the second half of 2023 to May 2024, and then again to “late fall 2024”.Â
But finally, the long-delayed hotel has announced that it will open its doors to guests on 1 March 2025, and is now taking enquiries for stays, weddings and events, as well as spa and dining experiences.
Raffles Sentosa Singapore opening March 2025

The Raffles Sentosa Singapore has long been in the works, ever since Royal Group bought over the former Beaufort Hotel in 2014. The hotel was renovated into the Sofitel Sentosa Resort & Spa, but the intention from the start was always to build an ultra-luxury resort adjacent to it.
Designed by renowned firm Yabu Pushelberg—whose portfolio includes Aman Residences Tokyo, Park Hyatt Shenzhen, and The London EDITION—the S$70-million property spans an expansive 100,000 sqm. It features 62 villas, starting with a 210 sqm one-bedroom pool villa and culminating in the 650 sqm Royal Villa. Each villa is equipped with a private pool, an outdoor terrace, and floor-to-ceiling windows that showcase the surrounding landscaped gardens.
An oasis of wellbeing immersed in an exquisite natural environment, Raffles Sentosa Singapore is the second address to open in the country of Raffles’ birth. Located on a hilltop in Singapore’s ‘island in the city’, the new ultra luxurious resort features 62 contemporary private pool villas surrounded by exuberant tropical gardens, with wide views out over the South China Sea.
Just 10 minutes from central Singapore, yet a world apart in its peace and tranquillity, Raffles Sentosa Singapore is a secluded sanctuary for extended stays, celebrating nature and prioritising wellbeing at every turn. There will be five restaurants, a spa offering next-generation wellness, literary tomes on botany, wellness, fashion, gastronomy and history to browse, and a stunning ballroom seating up to 400, overlooking the resort pool. The Sentosa Sling cocktail will debut as part of Raffles’ legendary welcome.

We still don’t know how much exactly rooms will cost, but a 2019 report in EdgeProp cited S$875 to S$2,500 a night, while an Accor spokesperson quoted S$1,500 to The Business Times. That was five years ago, mind you, and given how hotel rates in Singapore have skyrocketed, I’d be very surprised if we see anything less than S$1,700 a night, outside of opening offers. Suffice to say, this hotel will be attracting a particular sort of clientele.
For what it’s worth, I’d expect this hotel to be available through luxury travel advisor programmes like HERA (formerly known as STEP) and Virtuoso, which offer perks like a US$100 hotel credit, room upgrades, complimentary breakfast and late check-out.
Raffles has been rather parsimonious with the publicity photos, and has only provided three in total, one of which is taken at night so you can’t see much detail.
However, we do have some renders from 2019, which look rather different. I personally find myself drawn to the previous design, with its travertine-clad walls conveying more of a luxury vibe than the wood-heavy accents that the property appears to have pivoted towards.
Spa, wedding and dining options
Spa
The spa at Raffles Sentosa Singapore will have a “strong focus on wellbeing” and offer “holistic wellness experiences”, set in a converted heritage landmark with 13 treatment rooms.
Weddings
Two ballrooms will be available for weddings and events, the largest of which can accommodate up to 400 guests (I shudder to think at what the angbao rates will be!).
Dining concepts
Raffles Sentosa Singapore will offer five restaurants and lounges:
- Empire Grill: Authentic Italian cuisine with a modern twist
- Royal China: Refined Cantonese cuisine
- Hashida: Distinctive Japanese omakase journey
- Raffles Room: Serves the signature Raffles Afternoon Tea
- Chairman’s Room: Offers whiskies, cognacs, fine wines and champagnes by the glass
It remains to be seen whether any of these venues will be offering Accor Plus discounts, but the idea isn’t too far-fetched. Over at the Raffles Hotel Singapore, for example, Accor Plus members enjoy 15% off at Tiffin Room and yi by Jereme Leung.
Conclusion
The Raffles Singapore Sentosa will finally open in March 2025, with 62 villas, a spa, five dining concepts, and two ballrooms. While the hotel is “taking enquiries”, you can’t actually book rooms online just yet- though if March is really to be the curtain raiser, I can’t imagine they’d delay much longer.Â
Needless to say, the rates are likely to be blush-worthy, and unfortunately, Accor’s fixed-value loyalty programme does not lend itself to aspirational redemptions. Still, if the sticker price doesn’t faze you, this could very well become the luxury hotel experience in Singapore.Â
What are the odds they’ll offer Stay Plus nights here, eh?
Will you be booking a stay at the Raffles Singapore Sentosa?
crazy rich asians …
Probably its going to be similar like Raffles Bali
Let’s just say the Royal Group brothers aren’t exactly known for the best hotel management practices. A trawl through Flyertalk will show lots of complaints about how they tried to fleece and nickel and dime Accor status holders out of their benefits at Sofitel Sentosa in the few years after they rebranded to Sofitel. Unsurprising and a display of their singular priorities as hotel managers. And from my own personal experience during a staycation there (ants infestation in room) I don’t have very high expectations for this Raffles.
