Seats.Aero now searches for Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer awards

Find up to a year's worth of Promo, Saver and Advantage awards in seconds with Seats.Aero, a fuss-free way of searching KrisFlyer.

With its powerful filters and lightning-fast search results, Seats.Aero has quickly become my go-to solution for painless award searching.

This website has come a long way since it launched in 2022 (you know youโ€™ve made it when Air Canada tries to shut you down!), but thereโ€™s always been one big drawback for someone based in Singapore: the lack of support for KrisFlyer.

Subscribe

Iโ€™d asked about this numerous times, but was told that the Singapore Airlines website was โ€œtoo complicatedโ€ for automated scraping, at least compared to other airlines out there.

But exciting developments are afoot. Shortly after Roame (a competing award search tool) added support for KrisFlyer, Seats.Aero has added it too.

Seats.Aero now supports KrisFlyer award searching

Find Singapore Airlines award space quickly with Seats.Aero

Seats.Aero has always displayed Singapore Airlines award availability, but only the space released to partner programmes like United MileagePlus and Virgin Australia Velocity. This means it showed the awards that members of these programmes could book, and not the full range available to Singapore Airlinesโ€™ own KrisFlyer members.

KrisFlyer members, however, have access to additional award space, including Advantage awards, which are not available to partners. This was not reflected on Seats.Aeroโ€” until now.

The Seats.Aero website has just been updated to add support for Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer. You can select this by clicking on Explore > Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer.

This shows you 60 days (free) or one yearโ€™s (Pro) worth of award seats for every route that Seats.Aero tracks.

You can also use the Search function to do a more targeted search for flights between two points, such as Singapore and Sydney. Remember to filter your results to KrisFlyer under โ€œprogramsโ€.

Hereโ€™s a few observations I had.

Regular KrisFlyer award space only

Seats.Aero reflects the award space available to a regular, base-tier KrisFlyer member.

PPS or Solitaire PPS Club members have access to additional award inventory which will not be reflected on Seats.Aero. Therefore, they should take the results as a baselineโ€” there could be more award seats than whatโ€™s shown here, but the only way to confirm it is by logging into your account and running a search yourself.

Promo, Saver and Advantage awards all listed

Seats.Aero will display both Saver and Advantage awards for Singapore Airlines flights. We can see this in the screenshot below, where SIN-SFO is available in Business Class for 107,000 miles (Business Saver) or 128,500 miles (Business Advantage).

Seats.Aero will also find Promo (aka Spontaneous Escapes awards), which can be identified from their discounted pricing.

For example, I can see that thereโ€™s Spontaneous Escapes award space between Singapore and Beijing on 31 March 2025, identifiable by the discounted price of 15,050 and 24,150 miles (versus 21,500 and 34,500 miles respectively).

Selected routes only

At the moment, Seats.Aero only supports selected routes for KrisFlyer search, namely:

  • ADL
  • AKL
  • AMS
  • BCN
  • BOM
  • BRU
  • CDG
  • CPH
  • DEL
  • EWR
  • FCO
  • FRA
  • HND
  • ICN
  • IST
  • JFK
  • JNB
  • LAX
  • LHR
  • NRT
  • MEL
  • MUC
  • PEK
  • PER
  • PVG
  • SEA
  • SFO
  • SYD
  • ZRH

Seat.Aero says we can expect to see additional routes added in due course.

Cached, not live!

One important thing to remember is that Seats.Aero shows cached award space, not live. It runs periodic searches and stores the results, which is how itโ€™s able to display them so quickly. Therefore, there is a chance that Seats.Aero shows a result which you canโ€™t replicate on the Singapore Airlines website.

For what itโ€™s worth, there is a column in the search results called โ€œLast seenโ€. The more recent the result, the more likely it is to still be there.

What other programmes are supported?

Seats.Aero periodically polls the following airline frequent flyer programmes for award space.

Programme Alliance
Aeromexico Club Premier SkyTeam
Air Canada Aeroplan Star Alliance
Air France/KLM Flying Blue SkyTeam
Alaska Mileage Plan oneworld
American Airlines oneworld
Azul TudoAzul โ€“
Copa ConnectMiles Star Alliance
Delta SkyMiles SkyTeam
Emirates Skywards โ€“
Etihad Guest โ€“
GOL Smiles โ€“
JetBlue TrueBlue โ€“
Qantas Frequent Flyer oneworld
Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Star Alliance
Turkish Miles&Smiles Star Alliance
United MileagePlus Star Alliance
Virgin Atlantic Flying Club SkyTeam
Virgin Australia Velocity โ€“

With 18 different programmes, youโ€™ll have extensive coverage of all three major alliances, as well as programme-specific partners (like FlyDubai with Aeroplan).

Complete guide to Seats.Aero

I recently compiled a detailed guide to using Seats.Aero, including its awesome time-saving features like Explore, airport groups, filters and seat alerts.

Thereโ€™s just so many use cases for this.

  • Finding elusive Japan Airlines or ANA First Class award seats
  • Checking how likely your waitlist is to clear (by looking at flight loads)
  • Create seat alerts to ping you once award seats open up
  • Get a complete list of destinations with award flights during your vacation dates

Conclusion

Seats.Aero now supports KrisFlyer award searching, a feature that has long been on my wishlist. This allows you to check up to a yearโ€™s worth of award seats at a glance, rather than poking around in the dark.

Of course, I completely understand there will be some out there who wonโ€™t like this development, insofar as it increases competition for already-scarce award seats. But like it or loathe it, itโ€™s out in the wild already, so you might as well use it.

Hmmm, I donโ€™t see certain routes like SIN -> ICN or SIN -> PUS for example. I guess they are being updated?

Ian

Just added SIN/ICN and SIN/TYO! We are rolling out the shorter routes slowly but will get them in there.
To confirm as well, our searches only show availability that is visible to all KrisFlyer members.

Zezima

Hi Ian.

As Aaron just mentioned that Japan is crazy popular in SG, please do prioritize the following routes from/to SIN:

KIX, NGO, FUK, CTS

SQ flies to these airports in Japan.

Lim

I contributed to the Pro but could not place an alert for SQ award miles.

Zezima

Hoping to see the following SQ routes from SIN in seats-aero for North-Asia:
Japan: HND NRT KIX NGO FUK
Korea: ICN
China: PVG PEK
Hong Kong: HKG
Taiwan: TPE

Anthony

Iโ€™ve crossed checked a few award availability listed with SQ, those end up all being waitlist awards

JHH

How lazy must one be to search on the SQ website directly?

Gim

Can add SIN-MAN-SIN please โ€ฆ
