HSBC scrapping free ENTERTAINER membership from July 2026

ENTERTAINER with HSBC will be discontinued from 1 July 2026, and while existing cardholders can use their deals till then, no new membership codes will be issued from tomorrow onwards.

Back in 2018, HSBC launched a partnership with the ENTERTAINER, the coupon book with 1-for-1 deals on dining, activities, hotel stays, spa treatments and retail.

While this wasn’t as “full fat” as the standalone version that retails for S$85 (with frequent discounts), it was still a pretty good deal. Back in the day, ENTERTAINER counted Bedrock Grill and Fat Cow amongst its partners, and there was even a period where you could get 1-for-1 nights at the Banyan Tree Ungasan in Bali. Besides, if you had a HSBC Revolution Card, the absence of an annual fee made it basically free.

Unfortunately, HSBC has decided to call time on this partnership, leaving cardholders with two more months to enjoy the deals.

HSBC terminating ENTERTAINER partnership

From 1 July 2026, the ENTERTAINER with HSBC programme will be discontinued.

We’re refreshing our HSBC Cards dining privileges to serve you better.

As part of the refresh, from 1 July 2026, the ENTERTAINER with HSBC Programme will be discontinued and the ENTERTAINER with HSBC app will no longer be available.

New ENTERTAINER VIP membership keys will not be issued for HSBC Credit Cardholders whose new card account is opened on or after 30 April 2026.

Existing cardholders can continue to enjoy the offers in the ENTERTAINER with HSBC app till 30 June 2026.

If your HSBC card account is opened on or after 30 April 2026, you will no longer receive a membership key. However, previously-issued keys remain valid, and existing cardholders can continue to enjoy the offers up till 30 June 2026.

If you can’t find your membership key, search your inbox for an email with the subject line “Enjoy 1-for-1 offers at your fingertips with the ENTERTAINER with HSBC app”, sent from hsbc.notifications@messaging.hsbc.com.sg

To be frank, I haven’t really been making use of this benefit, because the programme has lost a lot of its lustre in recent years (if you know any good deals though, I’m all ears!). A quick browse shows such luminaries as Baskin-Robbins, Canadian 2 for 1 Pizza (how does 1-for-1 work at a 2 for 1 place, anyway?), Dunkin’ Donuts and Harry’s which, no disrespect, aren’t exactly destination dining spots.

HSBC says it is pivoting to other dining offers, which you can browse here. The offers that caught my eye were mainly the ones reserved for HSBC Premier Mastercard cardholders, including:

  • Priority reservations on Friday/Saturday at Burnt Ends
  • 1-for-1 set menus at Candlenut, Cedric Grolet, COMO Cuisine, COTE, Pangium, The Dempsey Cookhouse, Torno Subito

How does ENTERTAINER with HSBC work?

ENTERTAINER with HSBC has two tiers of membership: Premium and Standard

  • HSBC Premier Mastercard and HSBC Visa Infinite receive a Premium account
  • All other HSBC cardholders receive a Standard account

The difference between the two tiers can be found below.

The membership is issued to principal cardholders only, and each customer is capped at one ENTERTAINER with HSBC account, regardless of how many HSBC cards he/she holds.

What card should you use to pay?

By right, you’re supposed to pay with a HSBC credit card whenever you redeem an ENTERTAINER with HSBC offer.

In practice, some cashiers don’t really care. But if they do insist, then the card of choice will no doubt be the HSBC Revolution, which earns up to 8 mpd on dining.

Card Earn Rate for Dining Remarks
HSBC Revolution
(with EGA)
Apply
8 mpd Max S$1.2K per c. month. Must maintain min. ADB of S$50K in HSBC EGA SGD account
HSBC Revolution
Apply
4 mpd Max S$1K per c. month
HSBC Premier Mastercard
Apply
1.68 mpd No min. spend, no cap
HSBC TravelOne Card
Apply
1.2 mpd No min. spend, no cap
HSBC Visa Infinite 1 mpd No min. spend, no cap

However, you need to exercise some caution because the HSBC Revolution defines dining as:

  • MCC 5441 (Candy, Nut, Confectionery Stores)
  • MCC 5462 (Bakeries)
  • MCC 5811 (Caterers)
  • MCC 5812 (Restaurants)
  • MCC 5813 (Bars and Cocktail Lounges)

MCC 5814 (Fast Food Restaurants) is excluded, and even if you don’t care for fast food, 5814 can pop up in unexpected places like Shin Katsu, PS Cafe and Marche.

MCC 5499 (Misc. Food Stores) is also excluded, which rules out places like Bee Cheng Hiang, 7-Famous Amos, and Bengawan Solo (some outlets).

Conclusion

The ENTERTAINER with HSBC programme will be discontinued from July 2026, which leaves existing cardholders with two more months to enjoy the deals.

If you do plan to make a visit somewhere, do note that offers are not valid after 5 p.m on the eve of public holidays, on public holidays, and other blackout dates determined by the merchant. You might want to call ahead to avoid disappointment.
