While the DBS yuu Cards tend to hog the limelight, there’s actually another way of earning yuu Points from card spending: the lesser-known PAssion POSB Debit Card, which offers 5 mpd on yuu merchants and transactions in Malaysian Ringgit.

Now, let me be upfront with you: this is a complicated card to understand. I find the T&Cs harder to read than the DBS yuu Card, and that’s saying a lot. Moreover, the advertised 5 mpd on MYR spending is somewhat misleading, because it’s not actually attainable in practice (the theoretical maximum is closer to 4.35 mpd).
Still, if you don’t qualify for a credit card, or if you already max out the bonus caps on both the DBS yuu AMEX & Visa, then it’s definitely an option to consider — especially with the upcoming addition of yuu Points to Max Miles transfers.

The PAssion POSB Debit Card is available to anyone:
- aged 16 or older
- with a POSB/DBS savings or current account
Cardmembers automatically receive a complimentary PAssion membership upon activating the debit card. This membership is open to the general public, with no nationality restrictions, and offers privileges at more than 1,500 merchants islandwide.
There’s no annual fee to worry about with this card. However, because it’s a debit card, you might want to be a bit more paranoid about security measures, such as locking it whenever it’s not in use. Remember: unlike a credit card, where you have time to spot and appeal any fraudulent transactions, any transaction on a debit card, legit or otherwise, is immediately deducted from your bank balance!
How many miles do you earn?
Cardmembers earn 18 yuu Points per S$1 (equivalent to 9% cash rebates or 5 mpd) on yuu merchants and MYR spend.

Base Reward
Cardmembers earn a base reward of 3 yuu Points per S$1 (1.5% rebate or 0.83 mpd) at yuu merchants:
- 1 yuu Point per S$1 from the yuu merchant (scan yuu QR code or link yuu ID to the merchant)
- 2 yuu Points per S$1 from the PAssion POSB Debit Card
If you simply swipe the card without scanning the yuu QR code or linking your yuu ID to the merchant, then you will only earn 2 yuu Points per S$1.
The base reward will not be earned at any yuu merchants located outside of Singapore (e.g. Guardian in Malaysia), or for transactions charged in foreign currencies (including MYR).
Bonus Reward
In addition to the base reward, cardmembers can earn a bonus reward for meeting the following conditions:
- Minimum spend of S$500 per calendar month
- Transacting with at least three or five of the following per calendar month:

The quantum of the bonus reward depends on how many categories you spent with.
Tier 1 (Basic): 3x categories
PAssion POSB Debit Cardmembers who meet a minimum spend of S$500 per calendar month and transact with at least three categories will earn a bonus reward of:
- 3 yuu Points per S$1 on yuu merchants
- 6 yuu Points per S$1 on MYR spend
However, remember that the base reward is not earned on MYR spend, so the maximum a cardmember can earn is 6 yuu Points per S$1 (3% rebate or 1.67 mpd).

The bonus reward is capped at 2,000 yuu Points per calendar month, equivalent to S$666.67 on yuu merchants, or S$333.33 on MYR spend.
Tier 2 (Supercharged): 5x categories
PAssion POSB Debit Cardmembers who meet a minimum spend of S$500 per calendar month and transact with at least five categories will earn a bonus reward of:
- 15 yuu Points per S$1 on yuu merchants
- 18 yuu Points per S$1 on MYR spend
However, remember that the base reward is not earned on MYR spend, so the maximum a cardmember can earn is 18 yuu Points per S$1 (9% rebate or 5 mpd).

The bonus reward is capped at 7,600 yuu Points per calendar month, equivalent to S$506.67 on yuu merchants, or S$422.22 on MYR spend.
What’s the actual earn rate?

Let’s return to the issue I raised earlier: can you actually earn 5 mpd?
Yes and no.
Consider this scenario, where I spend S$500 across five yuu merchants in a month.
| Category | Spend | Base | Bonus |
| yuu Merchants | S$500 | 1,500 3x |
7,500 15x Tier 2 |
Here, I earn a total of 9,000 yuu Points, equivalent to 18 points per S$1, or 5 mpd.
But then consider a scenario where I first spend S$422.22 in MYR, then spend S$77.78 across four yuu merchants.
| Category | Spend | Base | Bonus |
| MYR spend | S$422.22 | N/A |
7,600 18x Tier 2 |
| yuu Merchants | S$77.78 | 233 3x |
0 15x |
I will earn a total of 7,833 yuu Points, equivalent to 15.7 points per S$1, or 4.35 mpd.
We can’t achieve 5 mpd in this scenario because the bonus cap has already been fully used by the S$422.22 MYR spend. The remaining S$77.78 needed to hit the S$500 minimum only earns base points, which drags down the weighted average earn rate.
So to put it another way: 5 mpd is achievable on yuu merchants. It is not achievable on MYR spend.
Of course, the question is why you would want to earn 5 mpd on yuu Merchants with the PAssion POSB Debit Card, when you could earn 10 mpd with the DBS yuu Card instead. But like I said at the start:
- Maybe you don’t qualify for a credit card
- Maybe you’ve already maxed out the bonus caps on the two DBS yuu Cards
In that case, 5 mpd with the PAssion POSB Debit Card is better than the 4 mpd you could earn with other alternatives like the UOB Preferred Visa or UOB Visa Signature.
And even though you cannot realistically attain 5 mpd on MYR spend, 4.35 mpd is still a respectable outcome.
In practice, however, it’s going to be very difficult to optimise this perfectly by spending exactly S$422.22 on MYR and S$77.78 on yuu merchants. Most people will simply aim to spend as close to S$500 in MYR as possible, keeping in mind that it’s better to overshoot than fall short (no S$500 minimum spend, no bonus points!).
If you spend exactly S$500 in MYR, the effective earn rate is 4.22 mpd, which still beats 4 mpd alternatives — even more so once you factor in the versatility of Max Miles.
What counts as minimum spend?

The S$500 minimum spend required to qualify for the bonus reward does not necessarily have to be with yuu merchants or in MYR.
Instead, any kind of retail spending will count towards the requirement, such as dining, shopping, petrol, air tickets etc. You simply need to avoid insurance premiums, hospital bills, school fees, charitable donations, and anything found in point 4 of the T&Cs.
However, spending outside yuu merchants or MYR transactions earns no rewards. Therefore, it’s not a great idea to use such transactions to meet the minimum spend, since they will significantly dilute your overall weighted average earn rate.
When are yuu Points posted?
For the base reward, 1 yuu Point per S$1 will be credited to your yuu account immediately, with the remaining 2 yuu Points per S$1 when the transaction posts, which usually takes 1-3 days.
The bonus reward will be credited to your yuu account within 90 days after each qualifying month. For example, if you spend in December 2025, your points will be credited by 31 March 2026.
What can you do with yuu Points?
yuu Points can be used to offset spending at yuu merchants at a rate of 0.5 cents per point.
However, they can also be converted into KrisFlyer miles, and — from early June 2026 — Max Miles. The latter would be my preference, given their versatility.

Conclusion

The PAssion POSB Debit Card may fly under the radar, but it’s actually pretty lucrative for a debit card.
Even if you’re already putting all your yuu merchant spend on the DBS yuu Cards, this can still be your primary card for MYR spending, or at least S$500 of it each month. You won’t be earning the advertised 5 mpd, but 4.22 mpd is still plenty decent — especially when the “m” in that mpd stands for Max Miles!
