Which hotels, airlines and cruises are showing the Euro 2020 Football Championships?

Euro 2020 has kicked off, and if you're staycation-ing or on the road, here's the hotels, airlines and cruises screening all the matches.

The Euro 2020 Football Championships have kicked off after a one-year delay due to COVID-19, with the tournament running from 11 June till 11 July 2021.

Since bars and restaurants still aren’t allowed to screen any kind of entertainment during this period, football fans will have to shell out the following to enjoy the matches at home:

⚽Euro 2020 Prices (Nett)
Platform Entire Tournament
(51 Games)
Per Match
Singtel S$93 N/A
Starhub S$94 N/A
LIVENow S$98
  • S$7.99 (Group)
  • S$9.99 (R16, QF)
  • S$19.99 (SF)
  • S$49 (F)

But there’s another way: if you happen to be in a hotel, on a plane, or on a cruise during this time, you might be able to catch the action too.

Which hotels are screening Euro 2020?

I’ve called up a wide range of 5-Star hotels across Singapore, and unfortunately, the vast majority of them will not be showing Euro 2020. I seem to recall quite a number screening the 2018 World Cup, but I suppose with all that’s going on, they don’t have the cash to spend on an amenity that only a handful may appreciate.

Hotel Euro 2020?
Andaz Singapore
Ascott Orchard
Ascott Raffles Place
Barracks Hotel
Capella Singapore
Capitol Kempinski
Dusit Thani
Fairmont Singapore
Four Seasons Singapore
Goodwood Park
Grand Hyatt Singapore
Hilton Singapore
Oasia Hotel Downtown

Oakwood Premier AMTD
PARKROYAL on Beach Road
PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay
PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering

Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa
Shangri-La Singapore
Sofitel Singapore City Centre
Sofitel Singapore Sentosa
St Regis Singapore
The Clan Hotel
The Fullerton Hotel
The Fullerton Bay Hotel
Warehouse Hotel
W Sentosa Cove

Just for fun I also called up a couple of Hotel 81s, and neither was showing Euro 2020. Guess you need a better excuse.

If you don’t see your favourite hotel listed above, it’s probably because it’s reverted to full-time SHN duty. Due to the extension in SHN from 14 to 21 days for the vast majority of inbound passengers, a number of hotels like the Westin Singapore and JW Marriott South Beach have temporarily suspended new bookings from the public.

Capitol Kempinski Singapore

The only hotel I’m aware of with a dedicated Euro 2020 package is the Capitol Kempinski. The Football Frenzy rate is valid till 11 July 2021, and comes with:

  • Breakfast for two
  • 10 bottles of German beer
  • Free non-alcoholic minibar beverages (available to all guests)
  • Complimentary parking (available to all guests)

This package prices at S$390++ (S$459 nett) and S$490++ (S$577) for a Deluxe and Grand Deluxe Room respectively, and rates are the same regardless of whether you stay on a weekday or weekend. Bookings are fully refundable by 4 p.m two days before arrival.

I’ve seen breakfast-inclusive rates start from S$368++ (S$433 nett) during this period however, so if you’re not big on German beer then that might be the better bet, since all rooms have the same TV channels anyway.

What about airlines?

Certain airlines will screen the Euros, courtesy of Sport24

Should you be one of the lucky few actually able to fly at the moment, the following airlines will be carrying the Euro 2020 championships, courtesy of Sport24.

  • Aeroflot
  • AeroMexico
  • American Airlines
  • ANA
  • Biman Bangladesh
  • Cathay Pacific
  • Emirates
  • Etihad Airways
  • Fiji Airways
  • Garuda Indonesia
  • Japan Airlines
  • Lufthansa
  • Turkish Airlines

Do note that not all aircraft may support live TV streaming. If in doubt, call the airline to confirm.

What about cruises?

Grand Suite on Quantum of the Seas

Dream Cruises has the Sport24 channel, which will be carrying the Euro 2020 matches at sea.

Royal Caribbean has ESPN and ESPN 2, which should be be carrying all 51 games– assuming it’s the right version of ESPN.

Conclusion

No one’s going to book a hotel, flight or cruise just to catch the Euros, but if you find yourself there anyway, it’s a nice bonus amenity to have.

Finally, I was hoping to throw in a Neymar joke in this post, and I really don’t care that Brazil isn’t part of Europe (well, unless the Portuguese get ideas again). I just want to remind all the ladies that if you have a crush on Neymar, ask him out; he’ll fall for you.

What about Copa America? How can we watch it? Could Neymar fall for us while we watch him?
