Chope is a reservations app thatย lets you secure tables at restaurants in Singapore, Bali, Bangkok, Beijing, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Phuket and Shanghai. Reservations made through the Chope app earn points called Chope Dollars, which can be redeemed for dining vouchers, gift cards to use at the Chope Shop,ย and Krisflyer miles.
You should always use Chope where possible to make reservations, because it’s basically free money if you’ve already decided to dine in a particular restaurant.ย You canย sign up for Chope hereย and get a $10 dining voucher after your first fulfilled reservation.
Chope is currently offering a “pointsback” promotion. If you make any Chope Dollar redemption by 12 March 2018, you’ll receive a promo code for a bonus 200 Chope Dollars on your next completed dining reservation.
Restaurant reservations normally earn 100 Chope Dollars each, so you’re looking at 300 Chope Dollars in total. At least that’s my interpretation of the wording; I couldn’t find the T&C for the promotion.
As a reminder, here’s how many Chope Dollars you need for various rewards:
- 400 Chope Dollars $10 voucher
- 700 Chope Dollars- $20 voucher
- 1,000 Chope Dollars- $30 voucher
- 1,200 Chope Dollars- 1,000 Krisflyer miles
You can see that 300 Chope Dollars puts you pretty close to a $10 voucher, so if you already have a Chope Dollar balance it might make sense to redeem a $10 voucher now and be 3/4 of the way towards earning another $10 voucher after your next reservation.
There’s nothing stopping you from using Chope to make a reservation, and then the Mileslife app to pay for your meal, so get creative.
Most places Iโve been to, like The Betterfield, allow the use of Mileslife on top of Chope. However, Big Street told me I couldnโt. They gave in easily after I said I didnโt anything that precluded it but they may tighten up on that in future. Perhaps they interpret โnot valid in conjunction with any other promotions, vouchers, discounts or reservation platformsโ very strictly.
On another note, Iโve just missed out on this promo as Iโve redeemed 1k KF miles with my Chope dollars anout a fortnight ago ๐
i’m not surprised some restaurants might not be friendly to stacking…my understanding is chope takes a significant cut from the total bill, then mileslife their own cut! I wonder how restaurants who allow both cover costs but gift horse mouth look don’t.
