๐Ÿ”ฅ AMEX Platinum Charge welcome offer: Get 150,000 bonus points+ S$100 with S$8K spend

Were you targeted for any of Citibank Premiermilesโ€™ 3 offers?

Get $200, 2,000 miles or 2,500 miles by hitting a minimum spend on your Citibank Premiermiles credit cards.

Even though itโ€™s not part of my regular card rotation, I have to say that I quite like the offers that Citibank runs for its Premiermiles cardholders. In the past weโ€™ve seen some very nice promotions, including a truly spectacular one not too long ago.  If not for their infuriating policy of not pooling points from different cards, Citibank may well have been my go-to credit card choice.

Citibank is starting another round of targeted promotions for Premiermiles AMEX and Visa cardholders, and Jeremy on the Telegram group sent me a link to his offer. I realised that by simply changing the version in the URL, I could see all 3 offers that Citibank had.

Here are the three offers:

Offers 1 & 2

These are fairly straightforward- by hitting the minimum qualifying spend between 1 Feb and 31 March 2018, you earn either 2,000 or 2,500 bonus miles on top of the base miles earned (1.2 or 2.0 mpd, depending on whether itโ€™s local or overseas spend).

Qualifying spend is very broad, and excludes the usual suspects like quasi-cash transactions, annual fees and interest. And before Iโ€™m asked, yes, Paypal and Cardup/iPayMy payments will count towards your minimum spend.

You can find the T&C for Offer 1 here and Offer 2 here.

Offer 3

It may surprise you to know that despite my general preference for miles over cashback, Iโ€™d have much preferred to get Offer 3 over Offer 1 or 2. The math is simple- at a 2 cent valuation, Offer 1 represents a 5% rebate, Offer 2 an 8.3% rebate. Thatโ€™s nice and all, but you simply canโ€™t beat $200 back on a $400 spend. Thatโ€™s almost too good to be true.

You need to make this qualifying spend between 1 Feb and 31 March 2018. If for whatever reason youโ€™re struggling to hit a $400 spend on your card for this promotion, consider buying gift vouchers online.

You can find the T&C for Offer 3 here.

Conclusion

I remember that once upon a time it was DBS Altitude which had all these random promotions for cardholders, but in recent memory its Citibank who has been showing their customers more love. Always good to see banks giving existing customers something to be happy about, instead of limiting their promotions to new customers only.

Are EZlink card top ups considered as eligible retail transactions?

They probably wonโ€™t target those whoโ€™ve availed of the larger spending target promotions in the past, likely because theyโ€™re most likely to be spending on the card anyway.

Austin

better call CSO to verify which promotion you are in.

I have received the V3 promo โ€“ aka 200 cash back. but when i call CSO to verify yesterday โ€“ he informed me that i am only eligible for 100 cash back for 400 expenditure. I was very shocked with this confirmation. But CSO says this is according to what he could see in his computer system. If there is dispute, he will have to arrange a call back from marketing dept, in 3-5 business days.
Now I am waiting for the call.
