Standard Chartered is running its Shop to Win 2018 promotion from now till 15 July 2018. During this period, you stand a chance to earn up to S$100 cashback on your Standard Chartered credit card spending of S$150 or more, plus a shot at S$3,000 of cashback with spending of S$6,000 or more.
To participate in this promotion, you’ll need to register your Standard Chartered credit card via this link. Registrations are capped at 100,000 cards (you can register multiple cards if you have them, but be sure to track which is which).
There are two components to this promotion:
Spin the Wheel- up to $100
Spending a minimum of S$150 in a single transaction earns you a Spin The Wheel chance, where you can earn up to S$100 cashback. This promotion is capped at the first 140,000 qualifying transactions. Once your card is registered and the system detects a qualifying transaction, you’ll receive an SMS with instructions on how to play the game.
Lucky Draw- S$3,000
If you spend a minimum of S$6,000 on your registered Standard Chartered card (can be spread over multiple transactions) in a lucky draw spend period, you get 1 chance to be one of 50 winners of S$3,000 cashback.
There are two lucky draw spend periods, each with 50 winners.
Period 1: 16 May โ 15 June 2018
Period 2: 16 June โ 15 July 2018
Free S$100 for new Standard Chartered card applicants + S$20 for using your mobile wallet
Standard Chartered does not have a mass market miles card (and the newly launched Rewards+ card is…somewhat underwhelming), so you’re looking mostly at cashback cards if you want to participate.
If you do not already have a Standard Chartered credit card, here are some that you might consider applying for.
- Standard Chartered Rewards+ Card
- Standard Chartered Prudential Platinum Card
- Standard Chartered Spree Card
- Standard Chartered Unlimited Cashback Card
I’m not in a position to advise you about cashback cards, but I do know that from now till 30 June 2018, Standard Chartered will give you S$100 simply for signing up for a credit card with the bank. You just need to activate the card within 30 days of receiving it and keep it open for 6 months.
If you’re an existing cardholder (defined as someone who currently or in the last 12 months has held an SCB card), you get S$20 per eligible card. Remember the maximum free cash you can get from SCB through signing up for cards is $120.
As an added sweetener, you can get a bonusย S$20 when you register your card with Google, Apple or Samsung Pay and charge at least 5 transactions by 31 July 2018, provided you had not performed any transactions on your mobile wallet with SCB cards prior to 1 April 2018.
So if you play your cards right, you could be looking at up to S$140 of free money S$100 for signing up for a new card, S$20 for signing up for a second card and S$20 for the mobile wallet promotion). That’s a decent haul for a few minutes of work.
Seems like existing card holders are not eligible for the Google Pay promo unless they sign up for new card
