|Update: Offer extended to 30 June 2019|
Citibank has once again extended its 30K miles sign up offer for the Citi PremierMiles Visa. This offer, which was originally launched back in August 2018, is now valid for applications received on or before
30 April 2019. 30 June 2019.
In addition to this, Citi has extended its alternative sign up offer for customers who don’t fancy paying the $192.60 annual fee. Read on for the details.
New-to-bank customers (defined as those who do not currently hold a principal Citibank credit card and have not in the past 12 months) have a choice of one of the following options:
|Annual Fee Option||No Annual Fee Option|
|Spending requirement (first 3 months)||$7.5K||$3K|
|Base miles earned @ 1.2 mpd||9K||3.6K|
|Bonus miles earned for meeting spending requirement||11K||6.4K|
|Miles from $192.60 annual fee||10K||N/A|
|Valid Till||30 Apr 19||31 Dec 19|
If you apply for a Citi PremierMiles Visa card through SingSaver as a new-to-bank customer, you’ll get $200 of NTUC/Grab/Taka vouchers.
Existing Citibank customers also have a choice of sign up offers for the Citi PremierMiles Visa card. You can (a) opt to have your first year annual fee waived, or (b) pay the annual fee, spend $7.5K in the first 3 months and get
- 9K base miles on the $7.5K base spend
- 4K bonus miles for meeting the spending threshold
- 10K miles for paying the $192.60 annual fee
- S$100 Kaligo e-voucher
Do note that the S$100 Kaligo e-voucher is only valid for stays of a minimum of 2 nights. This offer is valid for applications till 30 June 19, and the full T&C of this offer can be found here.
|If you apply through SingSaver as an existing customer, you will only be eligible for the fee waiver option. If you want the S$100 Kaligo e-voucher and 4K bonus miles, you’ll need to apply via Citi’s official website|
Why earn points with Citibank?
The Citibank PremierMiles card earns 1.2 mpd on local spend and 2.0 mpd on overseas spending. You also enjoy 3, 7 and 10 mpd on bookings made with Expedia, Agoda and Kaligo respectively.
Citibank points do not pool, which is to say that if you’ve accumulated points on the Citi Prestige or Citi Rewards card, those points won’t be pooled with your Citi PremierMiles Visa and you’ll need to pay a separate conversion fee for each card.
However, Citibank has the widest selection of partner airlines available to any bank in Singapore, which includes some pretty useful FFPs like Etihad Guest, as well as British Airways Avios. Citi Miles do not expire.

Which offer you ultimately pick depends on how you feel about paying an annual fee and how much you see yourself spending over the next 3 months.
Citibank’s continual extension of this offer may suggest it could be the new business-as-usual scenario, at least until another bank comes out with something more compelling.
30,000 miles would be enough for two people to fly round-trip Economy to Bali, and although that shouldn’t be the height of your ambition in the miles and points game, it’s a decent start.
