Join the X Card waitlist and get priority access to the 100,000 miles launch promotion

There's a new card coming that's looking to shake up the miles game with a 100,000 miles launch offer.

This article is written in collaboration with Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited (โ€œSCBSLโ€). All views expressed in the article are the independent opinions of The Milelion. If you’ve been reading the newspapers or visited Raffles Place, you may have seen ads for something called the X Card.

The X Card is all set to launch next week, and it’s planning to make a big entry. How big? Try 100,000 miles big.ย

Add your name to the X Card waitlistย

I’m not at liberty to disclose the full details about the X Card yet, but I can reveal that it’s a metal card targeted at “affluent millennials”. Cardholders will have the option of earning either miles, cash rewards, or travel credit, and points earned on the card will not expire.

The team has also confirmed that although the 100,000 miles launch promotion will be for a limited time only, all who are approved during the promo period and meet the spending criteria will be eligible to receive the 100,000 miles. In other words, this won’t be a “first X to spend $Y” type offer, which is good news.

Conclusion

Back in 2016 when the Chase Sapphire Reserve launched in the US, many of us gazed enviously at the 100,000 points launch offer and wondered if we’d ever see something similar here.

It’s hard to believe, but for a limited time, we’ll have a similar opportunity in Singapore. Keep watching The Milelion for more information on the X Card and its features.

I truly hope the card is better then the webpage and other services from SCB which have been really bad in the past.

Kshitij Gopal

I shudder to think of the annual fee..

Annoyed

Is it just me, or does the fact that SCB doesnโ€™t separate their statement into Principal/Supp Card annoy anyone else?

Dave

Would have been nice if they told us annual fee and min salary requirements before we give away our contact details for free, but hoping for the best here ๐Ÿ™‚

Bayle

Iโ€™m pretty sure thereโ€™s no requirement that you use your real name or mobile number. You just need an email address to receive their wait list communications.

Newbie

or you could just use the direct link:

Syok

I saw the other sites also talking about the card, saying the annual fee is about 588 similar to the current SCB VI card, but the annual income is at a lower bar, comparing with the current requirement 150K SGD.

Kelvin

More clickbait and less informative. Not even giving annual fee info is doing yourself a disservice, Aaron.

..

you are a whiny baby

DR

be patient young Padawan. I’m sure Master Aaron will provide a very detailed breakdown of the card fees and benefits once the embargo period has lifted.

Ben

If you don’t like it, don’t sign up. Is that very difficult?

chocolate lover

i want the chocolate. but can you feed me? oh and please make sure the spoon is clean as well.

LWL

Can’t wait to find out if I can even qualify for the income requirement. Lol.

Wl

Just got an email saying the details will be out in 2 days

Doyle

Saw in the T&C that this is a Visa Infinite.. so I’m sure income requirement is high.

George

oops, I sign up without promo code, should i submit again?

DR

any updates?

Milefan

Theyโ€™ve released the full T&Cs which kinda give the game away. From what I understand:
– Itโ€™s a Visa Infinite
– $695.50 in annual fees per year for the main cardholder, $107 per year per supplementary card
– 2 free Priority Pass visits per year

That said I canโ€™t wait to see the card face design!

Based on the leaked T&C, very lustre proposition. Just sign for the 100k miles promo and store in drawer. 1.2mpd for local spend, 2mpd for foreign spend. Poor compared to the existing SCB Travel VI. Only 2 x PP pass, wheress the travel VI got 6. Perhaps the attraction is metal.

โ€œThe Promotion is valid on selected dates between 10 July 2019 to 21 July 2019 (both dates inclusive), and as may be shortened, extended or withdrawn by the Bank in its sole and absolute discretion (โ€œPromotion Periodโ€)โ€

So not valid anymore? Can you confirm Aaron?

Milefan

I think heโ€™s under a press embargo to be fair, best to wait for the official word. Maybe theyโ€™ll revise the promotion dates when they launch the card? But still, SCB could have taken a leaf out of Appleโ€™s playbook by not having parts of their product mechanics released too early… or by choosing not to launch a product on the day that Muellerโ€™s slated to testify on the Hill (heck, Iโ€™m a Singaporean millennial and I care about these things!). I mean, why would any competent product owner/ corp comms function choose to compete with the hearings for press… Read more »
