For the month of November, SingSaver is running a next-day rewards campaign for Standard Chartered credit cards. New-to-bank cardholders will receive S$120 cash via PayNow, fulfilled the next working day after approval. They’ll also receive S$80 cashback from Standard Chartered within 30 working days of card activation, with no minimum spend required.
A new-to-bank customer is one who does not currently hold a principal SCB credit card, and has not done so in the past 12 months |
The following cards are eligible for this promotion.
Income Requirement | Annual Fee | |
SCB Unlimited Apply for the SCB Unlimited |
S$30,000 | S$192.60 (2 years waiver) |
SCB Spree Apply for the SCB Spree |
S$30,000 | S$192.60 (2 years waiver) |
SCB Rewards+ Apply for the SCB Rewards+ |
S$30,000 | S$192.60 (2 years waiver) |
The full T&C can be found here.
The SCB Unlimited and SCB Spree are cashback cards, so the only card of interest to miles chasers is the SCB Rewards+. It’s not a particularly compelling card in terms of features, earning 1.45 mpd on local dining (capped at S$5K/year, assuming no foreign currency spend) and 2.9 mpd on foreign currency spending (capped at S$2.2K/year, assuming no local dining spend). That said, S$200 of cash does sweeten the deal, and is definitely something to be considered if you’re new-to-bank.
This campaign doesn’t cover the SCB Visa Infinite sadly, although new-to-bank cardholders can still get S$100 cash when they’re approved for a card. This will be fulfilled based on the regular 3 month timeline instead of on the next day.
Conclusion
To expedite your application (and get your cash faster), it’s strongly recommended you apply via the SingPass MyInfo system. Be sure to watch your email for SingSaver’s rewards form, which you’ll need to fill to receive your gift.
