ShopBack GO is an offline cashback platform which lets you rack up some free money whenever you dine or shop at one of the 1,000+ participating merchants. Simply link your Visa/Mastercard to the ShopBack app and use it as per normal. You’ll earn the regular miles on your credit card, plus some bonus cashback on top of it.
It’s no longer necessary to manually “activate” a merchant in the ShopBack app before you earn cashback. However, there may be some merchants which award a cashback boost on your first visit- this requires manual activation, so it doesn’t hurt to double check.
If you don’t have a ShopBack account yet, you can get a bonus of S$5 when you sign up through the link below and make your first purchase of at least S$25.

ShopBack GO Super Season 2
ShopBack GO has just launched Super Season 2, which runs from 6 Jan-31 Mar 2020. This features more than 200 1-for-1 offers, exclusive deals, and up to 20% cashback.
DBS/POSB cardholders can unlock up to S$30 bonus cashback each month by linking a DBS/POSB card to the Shopback app and spending at 8 different brands (4 brands earns you S$10). This bonus repeats for February and March for a grant total of up to S$90.
A minimum spend of S$10 per transaction is required, and bonus cashback will be credited by the 25th of the following month.
Dining at different branches of the same chain counts counts as only one brand, e.g paying at Maki-San at Junction 8 and Orchard |
Here’s how Super Season 2’s offer compares with the first season:
Super Season 1 | Super Season 2 | |
Bonus with | UOB Cards | DBS/POSB Cards |
Bonus cashback | S$20 | S$30 |
Transactions required | 6 | 8 |
Min. transaction size | S$20 | S$10 |
Unfortunately, DBS doesn’t have a dedicated dining card, so you’re going to have to give up some miles if you want to earn your bonus cashback.
Assuming you make 8 transactions of S$10 each, you’re giving up 8* 10 * 2.8 (based on the difference in earn rates between the DBS Altitude and a 4 mpd card)= 224 miles, which is about S$4. You’ll more than earn it back on the S$30 bonus cashback, although obviously your margin gets thinner the larger your transaction.
In case you needed a refresher on what cards to use for dining:
Card | Dining MPD | Remarks |
UOB Preferred Platinum Visa | 4.0 | Only where Paywave is accepted, capped at S$1,110 per month |
UOB Lady’s Card | 4.0 | Select dining as your quarterly 10X category, capped at S$1,000 per month |
UOB Lady’s Solitaire Card | 4.0 | Select dining as your quarterly 10X category, capped at S$3,000 per month |
Maybank Horizon Visa Signature | 3.2 | Min spend S$300 per month, capped at S$4,285 per month |
KrisFlyer UOB Credit Card | 3.0 | Min S$500 spend on SIA-group transactions per membership year. 1.2 mpd received upfront, 1.8 mpd received 2 months after membership year end |
HSBC Revolution | 2.0 | |
OCBC VOYAGE | 1.6 |
Remember, only Visa or Mastercard cards can be linked with ShopBack GO, so you can’t use the UOB Preferred Platinum AMEX even if you have it.
It makes no difference whether you pay with the physical card, or with the same card loaded on a mobile wallet like Google or Apple Pay.
1 for 1 deals, special offers and loyalty rewards
In the ShopBack GO app you’ll find many Super Season 1-for-1 deals, special offers and loyalty rewards. Offers include:
|
|
To enjoy these deals, you’ll need to present the voucher to staff at the time of ordering. All vouchers are limited to one redemption per customer.
These offers can’t be stacked with other promotions (e.g. Entertainer, Eatigo), but you’ll still earn the miles on your credit card as per normal.
Conclusion
It costs you nothing to link your credit cards to ShopBack GO, so even if you’re not intending to actively follow this promotion, taking five minutes to get it done can lead to some surprise cashback down the line.

Can i check that 4mpd for PPV is now up to $1,110 per month? I always thought it was just $1,000 (rechecked UOB website to confirm too)
the website says S$1K, but in practice it is S$1,110. it has to do with how uob’s systems calculate the bonus.
ahh that’s what i thought with the whole $5 rounding. Noted and will up my monthly “limit” for PPV.
Helpful as always Aaron! Cheers!
Does the same theory also apply for UOB VS (for contactless or FCY spend)?
nope. that’s 1k min 2k max
Minor (& not really an important) point but iirc the minimum spend during the UOB promotion was also $10.
The current DBS promo is also helpful in that it need not be dining, so shopping at Guardian & H&M also count. UOB was strictly dining only.
min spend for shopback super season 1 was S$20, at least when it first launched. i’m not sure if they changed it in nov/dec, but oct was definitely S$20.
good point about the expansion to shopping though.
