Mandarin Oriental’s Heroes rate now open to all: S$339 nett with breakfast and S$80 F&B credit (SRV-eligible)

Expired

Book the Celebrating Heroes rate at the Mandarin Oriental Singapore and pay just S$339 nett, for both weekends and weekday stays.

Mandarin Oriental Singapore has been offering a “Celebrating Heroes” rate since it received approval to take staycation guests back in July 2020. This package, reserved for healthcare workers, came with breakfast and S$80 F&B credits- one of the best staycation deals the hotel was offering.

The good news is this rate has now been made available to the general public. As per an email I received from Mandarin Oriental:

Celebrating Heroes package has been on our website for a while now for direct bookings and we have now made it possible for the SingapoRediscovers Vouchers redemption campaign. It is extended to all frontliners in essential sectors and beyond who are making a difference in their own ways no matter how small in their fight against COVID-19. It’s to celebrate the unsung heroes in our nation be it someone who leaves a hand sanitiser in the lift of their residence or taxi/private hire car drivers going an extra mile to ensure safety and personal hygiene of their passengers.

The former version of this package called Celebrating Healthcare Heroes was launched in July 2020 and that was limited to the healthcare sector only. We simply evolved to an encompassing approach with the latter and current offer.

Just like Mandarin Orchard, everyone’s a hero now.

Mandarin Oriental Celebrating Heroes rate

The Mandarin Oriental Celebrating Heroes rate starts from S$288++ (S$339 nett) and includes the following:

  • Breakfast for two
  • Room upgrade, subject to availability
  • Early check-in/late check-out, subject to availability
  • S$80 F&B credit per stay
  • Free parking

Bookings must be stayed by 30 June 2021, and are fully refundable up to 2 p.m, two days before arrival. The great thing about this rate is that weekends and weekdays price exactly the same, i.e S$339 nett.

Note: Mandarin Oriental hasn’t updated all aspects of its website yet; the booking screen still shows that a Healthcare Staff ID is required. Based on the email I received, you can safely ignore this.

For those who wish to use their SingapoRediscovers Vouchers (SRV), the package can be purchased on Klook at the same price. Klook lists no fewer than 15 packages, so be sure to select the right one- “Celebrating Heroes: 1-Night Stay in a Deluxe Room with Breakfast and SGD80 F&B Dining Credit for Two”

What is the Mandarin Oriental staycation experience like?

I recently stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Singapore, and while I thought the rooms weren’t that fantastic (no hand shower, bathtub too small, no bidet hose for toilet), the excellent service and stellar MO BAR experience (be sure to spend your S$80 here) were certainly memorable.

Another nice feature is the swimming pool, which offers Bali-style private cabanas and great views of the surrounding Marina Bay area.

I’d consider a return visit, but probably not until the much-lauded Oriental Club reopens.

Conclusion

For those looking to stay at the Mandarin Oriental Singapore, the Celebrating Heroes package can be a very attractive deal indeed. The rate is valid for both weekend and weekday stays, and you can spend your SRV if you book via Klook.
