Great deal: Get S$300 cash or Dyson fan when approved for a HSBC Revolution Card

Expired

Apply for a HSBC credit card by 22 March 2021 and get 50% more cash than the best public offer (or a Dyson fan).

This offer has been extended till 28 March 2021 22 March 2021

From 8-22 March 2021, SingSaver is running a great deal on selected HSBC credit cards. New-to-bank customers will get S$300 cash or a Dyson Cool AM07 Tower Fan (worth S$499) upon approval, with a min. spend of S$500.

For perspective, this is 50% more cash than the existing S$200 cashback offer available to the general public.

⚠️ New-to-bank customers are defined as those who do not currently hold a principal HSBC credit card, and have not in the last 12 months

Existing HSBC customers will get S$60 cashback with a min. spend of S$500.

How it works

Applications through any of the links in this article will be eligible for the offer. The HSBC Revolution is the obvious card of choice for miles collectors, but you could also apply for the HSBC Advance or HSBC Visa Platinum if you were so inclined.

Note: After entering your email, you will be redirected to a landing page that shows the regular offer of S$200 cashback with S$500. Ignore this- provided you sign up via the links in this post, you will get S$300 cash from SingSaver (as per these T&Cs)

You must to fill in the SingSaver rewards form that will be sent to your email. It’s vital you do this- no form, no reward. FYI, no reference number will be given for HSBC cards; you just need to input the name of the product you applied for

All cards must be activated, and you must spend S$500 on eligible purchases by the end of the following calendar month. For example, if you apply on 9 March and get approved on 10 March, you will have till 30 April to meet the minimum spend.

Gifts will take up to four months to be fulfilled- the reason for the lead time is the need to verify eligibility with HSBC.

What spending is excluded?

The easiest way to hit your S$500 minimum spend is to go out and shop at a supermarket. Since you’ll earn 4 mpd here (see next section), there really is no opportunity cost involved in using the HSBC Revolution; in fact, it’s the card I’d use by default here anyway.

Do note that your transactions must post by the end of the qualifying period. It can take anywhere from 1-3 days from the date of the transaction for it to post to your account, so don’t leave your spending till the last moment.

The minimum spend of S$500 does not include the following:

  • Foreign exchange transactions (including but not limited to Forex.com);
  • Donations and payments to charitable, social organisations and religious organisations;
  • Quasi-cash transactions (including but not limited to transactions relating to money orders, traveler’s checks, gaming related transactions, lottery tickets and gambling);
  • Payments made to financial institutions, securities brokerages or dealers (including but not limited to the trading of securities, investments or crypto-currencies of any kind);
  • Payments on money payments/transfers (including but not limited to Paypal, SKR skrill.com, CardUp, SmoovPay, iPayMy);
  • Payments to any professional services provider (including but not limited to GOOGLE Ads, Facebook Ads, Amazon Web Services, MEDIA TRAFFIC AGENCY INC);
  • Top-ups, money transfers or purchase of credits of prepaid cards, stored-value cards or e-wallets (including but not limited to EZ-Link, Transitlink, NETS Flashpay and Youtrip);
  • Payments in connection with any government institutions and/or services (including but not limited to court costs, fines, bail and bond payment);
  • Any AXS and ATM transactions;
  • Tax payments (including HSBC Tax Payment Facility);
  • Payments for cleaning, maintenance and janitorial services (including property management fees);
  • Payments to insurance companies (including but not limited to sales, underwriting, premiums and insurance services);
  • Payments to educational institutions;
  • Payments on utilities;
  • The monthly instalment amounts under the HSBC Spend Instalment;
  • Balance transfers, fund transfers, cash advances, finance charges, late charges, HSBC’s Cash Instalment Plan, any fees charged by HSBC;
  • Any unposted, cancelled, disputed and refunded transactions.

The key exclusions to note here are insurance, utilities, education, government transactions as well as CardUp/ipaymy. These were all excluded from 1 July 2020 onwards as part of HSBC’s revised rewards terms and conditions.

The 4 mpd is capped at a maximum of S$1,000 per calendar month.

Conclusion

This is currently the best offer on the market for the HSBC Revolution, certainly more generous than going directly via the HSBC website. Be sure to look out for the SingSaver rewards form, and submit it ASAP.

Anyone else having issues with using My info when signing up for HSBC credit card?

D L

I am, cannot access my previous half filled application… HSBC site is broken

Nick

FYI we will not trust Singsaver anymore. When we got into the promo last Sep for the Pure Cool Me fan, we signed up in good faith that its for new and existing card applicants. Now they are pushing it to the bank that they are the ones rejecting the promo for the Dyson. The bank says its nothing to do with them because its Singsaver’s promo. I think it may be speculative but Singsaver is not honouring their agreement. Very disappointed.

Can i buy FairPrice vouchers $500 to qualify?

Anyone’s card approved? I applied on 9 March but it’s yet to be approved.

Same here, faced so many issues as the other commenters. Applied on first day and faced issues with My Info despite trying so many times and on different browsers. After that decided to click save and exit to try again later, but didn’t receive an email for me to continue my application, and I couldn’t submit a new one because it says I have application in process. Called HSBC (super long hold times) and finally managed to sort things out 1 week later. It’s April now and no news on my application approval. Just hope they void this application if… Read more »

Accidentally clicked the “Save and exit”” button on the HSBC website when I was applying for the card. Then when I went back to re-apply to click from the SIngsSavers’ link, the HSBC website stated I have an application in progress and told me to click from the link sent in SMS. If I do so i will not be able to get the reward?

Bel

Did your application get approved alr?

Hi Aaron, for this qualifying transaction, is payment to telecommunication provider, i.e. Singtel considered as qualifying transactions?

feng

if my credit card approved in April, meaning i entitled to gift so long i spend within May 21?

YY

Hi, I actually applied for the HSBC card on the 2nd week of March but only receive my card on around the 2nd-3rd week of april. I was worried at first on how to meet the minimum spend of $500 within just a week left, but after calling HSBC, i got to know that my card was approved on 1th April. To answer your question, Yes you have until the end of May 2021 to meet the criteria.
