If you’re uncertain about the MCC of a particular merchant, you can always look it up via the Visa Supplier Locator.ย As a reminder, all transactions must be made online, though they need not necessarily be in SGD.ย
What’s noteworthy is that MCC 7941 is included, which means you could pay for gym memberships at places like Fitness First or Anytime Fitness (to the extent that they have online payment portals; as you can tell from my physique I’m not a gym person).
Bonus UNI$ will be credited to your account by 31 October 2021.ย
Barracks Hotel contest
If you’re among the top six spenders for online shopping and/or entertainment on your UOB PRVI Miles Mastercard during the promotion period, you’ll win a 1 night staycation at The Barracks Hotel Sentosa, valued at S$885.
I stayed here during a media event in 2019, and it’s a very high quality experience overall.ย

How does this compare to the Citi PremierMiles offer?
If you also happen to hold a Citi PremierMiles Card, it’s worth noting that you can currently earn anย uncappedย 4 mpd on food delivery and home entertainment. No registration or minimum spend is required, and this offer lasts till 31 August 2021.ย
๐ A similar offer exists for the Citi Prestige, which you can read about here.ย |
While the UOB PRVI Miles Visa’s 4.4 mpd is ostensibly a higher figure, Citibank awards points for every S$1, versus S$5 for UOB (learn more about credit card points rounding here). This is especially important for something like food delivery, given your average transaction size will be on the smaller side.ย
To illustrate, someone who spends S$18 with Deliveroo will earn:
- 64 miles with UOB PRVI Miles Visa (S$18 rounded down to S$15, with further rounding down due to partial UNI$)
- 72 miles with the Citi PremierMiles Card (S$18 x 4)
It’s reason enough to stick with the PremierMiles, if you have it.ย
Conclusion
While there’s no love for the PRVI Miles AMEX this time round, both UOB PRVI Miles Mastercard and Visa cardholders can enjoy an upsized earn rate on S$500 of online spend until the end of August.ย
Take a minute to register, and swap out your default cards as needed. If you have a Citi PremierMiles Card, however, I’d favor that over the UOB offer purely because of the more generous rounding policy.ย
For a maximum of 200 miles (vs. your average 4mpd card), I will not get the card out of the socks drawer. Nice try, UOB.
