Free HoteLux membership for premium OCBC cards
To enjoy this offer, OCBC cardholders simply need to download the HoteLux app, register for an account, tap “join HoteLux Elite” and enter the first 8 digits of their eligible card and name.
They’ll then receive a complimentary HoteLux membership valid for either 6 or 12 months, as shown below.

Do note that while the OCBC website talks about “elite membership” and “enhanced elite membership”, they’re really the same thing.
Complimentary elite memberships do not include the 1,000 HoteLux welcome points that are usually included with a paid membership.
There seems to be a bug with the HoteLux app which causes it not to recognise OCBC Premier Visa Infinite card BINs. I tried an OCBC VOYAGE BIN and it worked just fine though.
Once activated, users will be able to book luxury rates through the HoteLux app, even if the booking date falls beyond the end of their membership period.
It should be mentioned that you do not need a HoteLux membership to book these rates, however. Luxury rates like Shangri-La Golden Circle and Virtuoso can be booked through various travel agents like Classic Travel or QX Travel; HoteLux just makes it more convenient with its OTA-style booking system and instant confirmation.
So there’s nothing wrong with using HoteLux if you have a free membership, but otherwise you shouldn’t feel obliged to pay just because you want to book luxury rates.

As a reminder, luxury rates are eligible to earn elite nights and points with hotel loyalty programs, such as Shangri-La’s ongoing double points promotion.
Alternatively for UOB Reserve cardholders, just use the concierge to book luxury rates. There’s a much wider hotel range and 5 mpd (I think? Can’t recall)
