KrisFlyer launches social media pages with 1,000,000 miles giveaway

KrisFlyer has started its own dedicated Facebook and Instagram accounts, and is drumming up support with a 1 million mile giveaway.

KrisFlyer has started its own Facebook and Instagram pages, and for a few brief weeks (days?), I can luxuriate in the fact that The Milelion’s poor, neglected social media accounts have more followers than a S$14 billion company (but then again, so does this account about llamas).

Follow @KrisFlyer.Official, KrisFlyer’s dedicated social media channels to be amongst the first to find out about news, deals and fun facts from KrisFlyer and our SIA Group of partners, including Singapore Airlines, Scoot, Kris+, KrisShop, Pelago and more.

There will also be travel and lifestyle-related content to feed your wanderlust as you dream of your next adventure.

All that and more, to help you discover the various ways to make the most of your KrisFlyer membership.

To mark the launch, Singapore Airlines is running a 1,000,000 miles and KrisFlyer Experiences giveaway from 16 September to 24 October 2021. It’s basically an opportunity to pick up some additional miles, albeit not guaranteed. 

KrisFlyer Million Mile & Experiences Giveaway

To participate in this campaign, KrisFlyer members need to look out for contests posts on Instagram or Facebook:

  • Instagram: 16-30 September 2021
  • Facebook: 8-24 October 2021 (note: there’s a typo on the contest landing page that says 8-22 October)

These posts will have a question or task to complete. Once done, members will be in the running to win the following prizes.

Winners for the Instagram contest will be announced on 5 October 2021, while winners for the Facebook contest will be announced on 26 October 2021. 

Prizes will take 4-6 weeks to be credited into the KrisFlyer account or Kris+ wallet of each winner, while the KrisFlyer Dining Experience will take place on 4 November 2021. KrisFlyer miles will be valid for a period of one year from the date of crediting (versus three years normally), while KrisPay miles will be valid for the usual six months period. 

This contest is open to all KrisFlyer members residing in Singapore, Australia, the EU, USA, UK and numerous other countries/regions around the world (the full list can be found in the T&Cs at the bottom of this page).

To be eligible to win, your KrisFlyer account must have been created before 5 October/24 October 2021 2359 hrs (GMT+8) for the Facebook/Instagram contest.

If you inexplicably don’t have a KrisFlyer account yet, you can get 800 miles when you sign up with the promo code KFSOCIAL. Do note that we have seen slightly more generous sign up offers around the 1,000 miles mark in the past, however.

Conclusion

Singapore Airlines’ decision to start dedicated social media pages for KrisFlyer makes sense. It helps ease some of the clutter on its main page, reserving it for announcements like new routes, new launches, schedule changes and the like.

The KrisFlyer social media pages can then adopt a more lifestyle-focused approach, and who knows- if Singapore Airlines one day decides to spinoff KrisFlyer as its own independent company (as Avianca did with LifeMiles or Air Canada did with Aeroplan), it can’t hurt to have a built-in following.
