Marriott Bonvoy has launched a very compelling offer that’s valid till 4 May 2022. Members can earn double elite nights, as well as 1,000 bonus points per night. All hotels globally are participating, and there is no minimum length of stay required.
Under this promotion, you could qualify for Platinum status with as little as 25 nights, instead of the usual 50- and perhaps with the Batam travel bubble opening up, there’s a case for a mattress run?
Earn 2x elite nights and 1,000 bonus points per night
Register Here |
From 8 February to 4 May 2022, registered Marriott Bonvoy members will earn:
- 1,000 bonus points per night
- One extra elite night credit per night (i.e. two total)
Registration is now open, and must be done by 20 April 2022. Bookings made before the promotional period are eligible; all that matters is when you stay.
This bonus kicks in from your first stay, and there is no minimum stay requirement. Do note that this offer only applies to paid nights, and not award nights. There is no limit to the number of bonus points or elite night credits a member can earn (although given how there are 85 nights in this period, you’re effectively capped at 85,000 bonus points/elite nights).
As a reminder, here’s the number of nights per year required to earn status with Marriott Bonvoy:
- Silver: 10 nights
- Gold: 25 nights
- Platinum: 50 nights
- Titanium: 75 nights
- Ambassador: 100 nights + US$20,000 spend
Platinum is where the perks start getting serious, with free breakfast, club lounge access and suite upgrades. You could stay 25 nights from 8 February to 4 May 2022, and qualify for Platinum status under this promotion.
Ideally, you’d be looking for the cheapest possible property to clock your nights, and there’s no shortage in Malaysia or Indonesia (I’m only looking at Batam, since you can’t visit the rest of Indonesia without quarantine).
Some interesting ones I spotted (prices for random dates in February):
- Four Points by Sheraton Desaru: MYR 245 (S$79)
- Fairfield Kuala Lumpur Jalan Pahang: MYR 220 (S$71)
- Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral: MYR 220 (S$71)
- Four Points by Sheraton Batam: 570,000 IDR (S$53)
If you see any other potential mattress run opportunities, let me know!
Conclusion
Marriott Bonvoy is offering 1,000 bonus points (worth about US$7) and 2x elite nights for all nights stayed between 8 February to 4 May 2022. This is a solid promotion, and a good opportunity to rack up nights towards requalification.
Assuming an average per night rate of around S$70, it would cost S$1,750 to qualify for Platinum. That’s not a small amount of money, but if you’re planning a trip to a place with low-cost Marriott properties, might give you something to chew on.
Hmm, don’t see the registration on my profile. Over at flyeryalk people are also complaining.
While details are very thin on the ground, the Batam bubble will apparently be limited to the “Nongsa Sensation” area around Nongsapura, which I believe would rule the Four Points over in Nagoya.
yup you’re right. shame, but there’s other cheaper options in malaysia still
For Malaysia, I would like to choose Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur and is one of the best property for mattress run with buddy system, cost as low as MYR 170 per night!!
Whats a buddy system?
Be good to know if you qualify by May 2022, how long do you get to keep the Platinum for? I’ve read from other sources that it goes until 2024, just wondering how true is that?
Any idea, Aaron?
Qualify in calendar year 2022, keep status till Feb 2024
Thanks!! 2 years sounds pretty good!
will earn lifetime nights as well? BTW, now VTL is not applicable for Singapore citizen with visa free to enter right?
Hello! Thanks so much for this lead!
With complimentary breakfast, lounge access and free upgrades in mind, would you recommend going for Marriott Platinum promotion of Hilton’s Diamond Status Challenge, in which you will be upgraded to Diamond Elite if you complete 12 nights in the 90 days?
Thanks for your recommendation!
Hi Aaron..
One can bank two rooms per stay, correct? 13 (12 in other room) concurrent nights in same property gets you your 25 nights..?
you only earn credit for 1 room
Oh! So โearn points from up to three roomsโ is not same as credit for the nights of the multiple rooms..? darn..
